Eric replied: "Yes! Lifting weights correctly stimulates the production of Testosterone! Any hard, heavy, compound movement will signal your brain to produce more testosterone to produce more muscle mass and recover from physical activity. A proper weightlifting routine is like legal steroids. Sadly, most people think “Flex” and “Muscle and Fitness” are proper weightlifting routines.
#1: Squat. Check out Youtube for “squatRX”. It’s an awesome series on how to squat correctly. The squat is a super-drug because it is so brutally hard on the body, which releases the maximum amount of testosterone. Keep reps around 10, and try up to 20. If you can do body weight, 1.5xbw, or 2xbw with 20 reps, you’ll be a super man. Sadly, people don’t want to work this hard. As well as squats, make dead-lifts, dips and pull-ups your best friends, and you’ll be guaranteed to up your test.
#2: Diet. Eat protein all day long. Have some form of meat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Then, have snacks all day long. The constant supply of QUALITY nutrients will tell the body it’s ok to spend extra energy on muscle growth.
#3: Nutrition. Allegedly, Zinc and Magnesium are crutial to testosterone production. There is a product called “ZMA”, which may help you keep up your test production. There are even professional medical studies about eating almonds, which supply the body with the fats and Zinc to increase testosterone.
#4: This is by far, absolutely, the most important rule: if a product at GNC or the nutrition store says that it will increase your testosterone production, it WON’T. Usually, this product will have ZMA in it, and a bizarre combination of odd ingredients in super-low doses. Don’t buy this garbage! These products are based on super-amazingly-high doeses given to rats. You'd have to eat bottles upon bottles of their products to get even the smallest increase in test, but they won't ever tell you this.
And now a quick dose of reality: If you see #1 through #4, you’ll find that people do them in the EXACT Opposite Order. First, they buy the JUNK in the sports stores (doesn’t work), then they try ZMA and a good quality diet (good, but you need a good weight routine!), and the finally after years of suffering, they realize that the only time in their lives they got big, solid and strong was when they started heavy squats for high reps…
There it is. If you follow the above plan, I’ll bet you a month’s pay that you’ll increase your test levels.
“These are not the equivalent of steroids, right?” Nope, they are usually garbage used to take away the money of young men. All legal supplements are advertising gimmicks. They don’t hurt, and they don’t help. All they do is make your wallet smaller and smaller.
There are two camps in the weight world: people who want things the easy way, and people who don’t mind doing it the right way. Heavy high-rep squats suck. They hurt. They make you puke. They make you yell. But there is one fact that has been true since around 1910: they make you big and strong."
Can taking cold showers on a regular basis boost testosterone levels? What else can I do? I've heard that taking a cold shower at least once a day is a healthy practice. Among other things, I read somewhere that it can boost your testosterone levels. Now to me, an increase in testosterone is a very desirable thing. I'm already working out, eating healthy, and getting enough sleep. Could taking cold showers be one more item to add to my repertoire of testosterone boosting techniques? What other things can I do to boost testosterone levels?
So, now you're asking - why do I want to increase testosterone in my body? Now don't get me wrong, I'm a perfectly normal male. I just want to improve my masculinity somewhat, I guess. I want my face to look a little larger, and I want to be able to grow a more concentrated beard. And I want to be able to gain muscle easier.
Summary of my question:
Do cold showers boost testosterone AND what do you recommend I do to boost testosterone?
Thanks for your help,
Rahul
