The Best Personal Development Resources on the Web

This web-ring Personal Development for Life is dedicated to sites which are concerned with NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), Self-Development and Motivation. It is our intention, working together, to provide our visitors with access to the very best Personal Development Resources which are available on the web. Our consultants operate independently but share a common experience and belief in the human ability to shape our own destiny.

A couple of years ago, whilst driving along listening to a tape by Norman Vincent Peale, I was really challenged to think about my Life Goals. At that time, I didn't know what I wanted to achieve with my life.

So I took myself off to Clevedon for a day. There, at the end of the pier, I spent several hours thinking about what was most important to me in life; and I finally quantified my own, personal mission statement and four major goals.

The first goal involved a complete career change. I had spent, getting on for, thirty years in IT. My first goal was to become a Personal Development Consultant within three years and I am about half way through this career change at the moment.

That's how I discovered for myself that the Seven Habits material really works if you care to apply it to your life.

Because my purpose is to encourage others, I have developed this web site with the intention of providing resources to help people achieve their dreams. Here you will find a copy of my e-book The Deepest Desire of Your Heart together with books, articles, essays and a variety of other useful tools

Rachael Snow - Personal Development Consultant

My passion for language, culture and learning started early in life with the study of Spanish and has turned into a lifetime pursuit of new ideas and experiences. This sense of wonder about the world led to the study of cultural and linguistic anthropology at Luther College, culminating in a year living in Viña del Mar, Chile while studying at La Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. Constantly challenging myself to my highest levels of achievement, I also pursued studies in Russian, physics, and art, leading to recognition by the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.

After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Luther, I quickly accelerated into a leadership position at a large telecommunications company, where I successfully led a team of forty during corporate bankruptcy proceedings, motivating employees with individual coaching, enthusiasm, continual recognition and humor. Outside of the corporate setting, I volunteer as a mentor for at-risk high school students through the Goodwill School-to-Work program.

Four years ago, I made a commitment to address health and wellness in my life, by creating a new environment and perspective around food, exercise and overall well-being. Once a sedentary person, I now hike, snowshoe, and run often. I participate in marathon training and enjoy running in local 10k events.

My curiosity about human nature, professional background, and life experiences led me to the International Coach Academy, where I currently pursue the Professional Certified Coach credential from the International Coach Federation. As a coach, I enjoy using my curiosity about human nature and distinct observation skills. I love witnessing my clients become stronger through the resources, solutions, strategies and challenges that we create together.

I was born in Belfast, brought up in England and married a soldier - so we followed the flag in Germany (including Berlin), England, Wales, Northern Ireland and France. We are now civilians and living in England again. We have two grown-up sons, a dog and a cat.

My working life consisted in working with children who had failed their exams and teaching adults and children assorted things like languages, bridge and riding. And then, in the late '80s I read a book called Frogs into Princes (by Richard Bandler and John Grinder) which changed my life. Here was this couple of apparent lunatics demonstrating to my entire satisfaction that all the things I had always known (but which were dismissed by my elders and betters as ridiculous) were true.

John Grinder came to England, I went to one of his seminars and was completely hooked on NLP. Since then, I have been lucky enough to work with most of its finest trainers, around the world.

If you are a web-master & run a Personal Development site, consider joining our web-ring. We are not trying to build a ring with lots of sites, but a small ring consisting of the best Personal Development sites on the Web.

What is a web-ring?
It is a collection of sites related to a common theme - our theme is, of course Personal Development - which people can easily navigate by a common Navigation Bar placed on each site in the ring.

What does the Navigation Bar look like?
We've designed it to be as simple & transparent as possible, so as to fit in with the design of as many sites as possible. Look at the bottom of this page to see our Navigation Bar.

What do I need to do to join the Web-ring?
Click on this link: Join Now

What Happens if I do?
You get taken to a registration site where you fill in your site detail. The procedure should take you to a screen where you get Navigation Code - this is just some HTML which you need to paste into the bottom of your home page. It puts the same Navigation Bar as we have on your site.

What Happens Then?
Anyone who visits any site in the ring can easily click around the ring using the Navigation Bar on the foot of each page.
