Blue... blue... blue...! Not only I hate this color but also it sucks here! I can contribute by something. I found a security hole. According to which criterion links are selected? I was intending to call it "Swobodin's Web Manager", when a person you don't know called me and asked # here's a translation from a language you don't probably understand #: - What r u doiN'? - A web content manager, that does all, without needing FTP to update. - And ya gønña c4LL it Swobodin's D0 ALL? - Good idea. But what the hell is this? A PHP script that manages categories, articles, with blog, poll, guestbook, administration control panel ... Easy to install, easier to configure. Is there a live demo? PHP must have mysql, ctype and zlib libraries, mail function not disable, Register globals OFF Consult your phpinfo, or ask your host for details. How to install it? Uncompress your data, upload it -except the documentation files - to an empty (and writable) directory if you want to test, or at the root of your site if you want to adopt it. Run http://yoursite.com/swobodin_s_do_all/install.php ; follow the instructions and fill in the blanks; then all the files should know their destinations  . Run admin http://yoursite.com/swobodin_s_do_all/admin to access to the administration area or http://yoursite.com/swobodin_s_do_all/ to view the siteHow it can be useful for me? As a newbie or a hurry person that looks for a quick site, you can upload the site as is; as a curious you may modify it as your fits, as a developer you may retain some functions and some tricks, as a hacker you can help me to track bugs and security holes (This is useful for me, but I'd thank you for a such help), as a philosoph, there are some quotes you can read. And how much shall I pay to obtain permissions to use it? Absolutely nothing. It's free as GPL'ed, of course under some conditions. Read the license to know more... From where scripts are imported? They are local made, not 100% since I copied some functions from the PHP manual,imported the paginator class, whose the author is Ted Kappes, and the Tar class from the Pear shared files. Are all the used tools to build the site Open Source? I scripted it with the "troika" Vim, Kwrite and Mozilla composer on Fedora Core 1,so 300% open source! Graphics were made with both Gimp and Sodipodi, you can anyway download the images sources from here. The only $$$ program I used is Fireworks MX to make my logo, one year ago; I kept it. Why does the poll script use filesystems? Many people told me they like it because it does not use database. Also, the poll script and the guestbook are being developed independently from the content manager. The authentication does not work on Windows. Because Unix crypt function is different from the Win32 one. I admit I don't know how to use PHP with Apache's auth on Windows platform for the following reason: I simply don't have Windows; if you have an idea don't hesitate to propose it. Nevertheless, there's a method suggested by Alec Muffet in the Unix Crack's manual, a bit radical, but efficient: Quote:: Reformat your hard-drive and install Linux, then try again. CAUTION: this process may lose data. ::End Quote Something is wrong with the guestbook mailer? Dunno, I recently got problems with inet socket, so I couldn't test the mail. Waiting for I fix these problems (which are mine) I can guarantee (??) that the main site's mailer works fine. From where are these quotes? Everywhere. Some I found in a php script (no name, no author, no license), others in Tora (Toolkit for Oracle), the most in fortune-mod; I recently downloaded a lot of quotes from freshmeat.net. Don't worry, they are all under GPL. What does the script lack? For the moment I'm thinking about a search engine. Other ideas come along the usage of this script. Is this script made for me? By no means! this script is not a ready solution for your enterprise, neither to make your life easier (I forgot the name of the rich guy who uses this expression), but I made it according to my needs, trying as well as possible to be near from the standard norms. If you can accept it as it was written, it's good... otherwise, nothing prevents you from modifying the code; since if I'd reconfigure the script for each person who wants so and so, they would better hire me as a webmaster. How do I ...? Please think twice before inquiring: if you are asking on how to change table dimension, or to change button value, I suggest you read some HTML tutorials, Joe Barta's ones are very pedagogic and very easy (http://pagetutor.com). If your question is a development one, post it at the blog and/or contact me, then I'll try to answer, if I can't (a possibility which cannot be excluded), I'll look for it, but be sure you'll get your answer whether the question is interesting. A good news is that all can be modified from the style sheet. Don't forget to inform me about your new css  . As the script is in first version (so, unstable) if you have an idea to optimize the code, to add some lines, css or any other contribution, you are the kind of person I'm looking for. I found a security hole. Here I admit you are strong, or at least, stronger than me. If you track bug, a disfunctioning, an overflow of memory, etc. you should know the more you report these details, the more you encourage me to better develop it. Thanks.
