Mr Gheorghe Petru Multescu is a member of the SUPS Technical Committee and the Administrator of SUPS4 and SUPS-CITY web sites. 

Gheorghe is an  Research Scholar in Urban Development & Policy at the Faculty of the Built Environment, South Bank University, London. His PhD research project is entitled "Public Participation in Post-Communist Societies: How can Community Involvement in Urban Planning be improved?" and investigates ways of improving local democracy in post-socialist transition countries urban development.

Gheorghe graduated from "Ion Mincu" Institute of Architecture, Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning in Bucharest, and obtained his Licentiate's Degree Diploma in Architecture in 1996 (RIBA). He is a full member of the Union of Architects of Romania, which is part of the International Union of Architects (UAR / UIA).

From March to June 1995 Gheorghe held a research scholarship at the Technical University in Vienna, where he developed a research programme on "Urban Morphology & City Development in South Eastern Europe" allowing him to analyse a number of documents and city plans from the 17th and 18th centuries retrieved from the Austrian "Kriegsarchiv" for publication.

In 1999 he was awarded an MA Diploma in Architecture and Urban Design with a dissertation on “The Compact City concept and its role within Sustainable Urban Development” at the same university in Bucharest. During his Master course Gheorghe has been granted a Tempus research scholarship at South Bank University in London.

At present, Gheorghe is working full-time on his PhD research programme and is also involved in other extracurricular research projects and competitions.
