freewaymadness

The story continues with the 'Warner Brothers' album.

The American tour beckoned

Freeway Madness saw the arrival of Peter Tolson a young and talented guitarist from Eire Apparent. He, Phil and the others set about developing the sound hatched on 'Parachute'. From tight harmonies such as on 'Peter' to out and out rockers in the vein of 'Miss Fay Regrets', check out 'Havana Bound' to see what I mean.

A vastly underrated album.

The 70's sound of The Pretty Things was still changing, metamorphosing, but still original and recognisable.

The line up was Phil May, John Povey, Skip Alan, Peter Tolson and Stuart Brooks.

The contract with Warner's lasted just the one album.

The American tour came and went.

But there is more to follow...

Or home alone
