Savage Eye

Did somebody really paint that cover?
This album left off where 'Silk Torpedo' finished and was in many ways a refinement of it. The pretties have never stood still musically, always developing the sound, exploring ideas.
So, what have we got?
A mutual appreciation society with labelmate Maggie Bell for a start. She's referred to at the end of
'Under the Volcano' and she recorded a version of 'It's been so long'. Does anybody have a copy of her album? I'd love to get hold of one, sadly I missed it at the time.Of course we have the rock and roll,
'Remember that Boy' and 'It isn't Rock 'n' Roll', sorry if you are disappointed, but it really, really is!A beautiful ballad, 'Sad Eye', and one of the finest pieces of piano music I've ever heard, 'Theme for Michelle'. There's more, but you'll have to buy the album to find out!
Line up as for 'Silk Torpedo'
So, what happened next?
Well the band split basically. Phil was being squeezed out and so dissolved the band he had led for so long. The others carried on as Metropolis' for a bit, cut a couple of tracks which didn't see the light of day until the recent reissues and that was it, the end.
Or was it?
