Over the past 30 years Star Trek has brought joy and excitement to millions around the world, and is now not only a cultural phenomena but also an icon for a better way of life. This site is dedicated to the Great Bird of the Galaxy himself Gene Roddenberry and his vision of a better future, by looking at ourselves we can learn for tomorrow.
Roleplaying! What's That?
When we are young we play games as children that help shape the way in which we interact with our friends and peers. A great many of these games involve setting ourselves in some form of fantasy whether it be playing Cops and Robbers or Cowboys and Indians or even playing house, all these help build upon the imagination of a child and as such are a vital part of growing up. Roleplaying is a very similar affair to the games we played as children but rather than running around and pretending that we are Captains on some mighty Federation Starship, you sit around a table and use an alternate persona created within the games perimeters.
Have you ever watched an episode of Star Trek or one of the many wonderful movies and thought that if you where in Captain Picards place or Kirk's that you wouldn't let the aliens do this or you would do that to stop a war! Well with roleplaying you can get the chance to do what you would never be able too in real life.
In the Star Trek Roleplaying game (RPG) you can take on the role of who ever you would love to play, from a lowly Ensign on garbage duty to an Ambassador to the Vulcan embassy. The only real limits to the kind of character you want to be are your own imagination and what the person who runs the game
(Gamesmaster) will allow.
