JOHN RICHARD HARVEY
Born: March 26 1859 (baptism register, St. Mary the Virgin).
Died: December 12, 1935 (Daily News death records).
John Richard was the first child christened at the church of St. Mary the Virgin, Southside. His father, Richard, who built the church, saw to it by delaying his baptism for several months!
John & Hannah had a child, Richard Joseph, who was born June 21, 1880, but died only two months later.
John was ultimately the source of much of the information I have on the Harvey family, as he was old enough when
Richard E. died to remember him, and passed what he knew on to his grandaughter Pearl (Benson), who passed it on to
me.
