A mysterious explosion destroys the Chernoton Research Facility near Moscow. The explosion Releases "LUCIFER-ALPHA", a Biological Weapon secretly being developed there. Carried by the trade winds it spreads quickly through all of Europe, and kills 80% of its population. Later on , this incident simply becomes know as THE CATASTROPHE.

A mysterious Bio-roid appears out of nowhere. Part organic,
part machine, they can sweat and bleed, thus making them nearly impossible
to detect among humans. They appear during winter, killing off humans

Three years earlier Gillian Seed he and his wife, Jamie Seed, are taken into protective custody in the Siberian Neutral Zone by the 17th Siberian Investigative Force.
Both Gillian and Jamie suffer from severe amnesia. Their memories prior to the events of being picked up in Siberia, lost in a mysterious mental fog. Two years ago, after a vain attempt to rebuild their marriage, Jamie and Gillian separated. Following extensive special military training, Gillian is ordered to report to Neo Kobe City as a Junker!
