A SKATEPARK IN CAMBIE? Yep, one in Cambie. Thanks to our friendly local paper, the Rutherglen Reformer, we have now made public our idea for a skatepark. See our reasons below... |

WE NEED A SKATEPARK Here are our reasons for asking for a skatepark...
In our area, there is nowhere where we can skate. We have Safeway etc. but we are often chased away. Our street is a mess...Michael has at least 7 cuts on his hand just from one fall. The police chase skateboarders but not shoplifters, which really defies the point of police...are you now convinced? We are just kids looking for a place where we can skateboard without hastle so please support us. Skaters will come from as far as Motherwell and East Kilbride. You may press claims of there being one in Bellshill. Well, its actually wrecked. People never took care of it and it was made with minimum planning...weather and vandalism have both played their part. And if you try to use vandalism as an excuse, look how good Queens Park is...it's in a rough area, but its in perfect condition. A simple sheet of metal over the wooden structure is all it takes. Thanks for reading, and we hope some are converted to our way of thinking. |

WWW (What We Want) We know that if a skatepark is built in Cambuslang it won't be huge...far from it, we just look for something small. This is what we would like...
1. A six foot halfpipe (no vert) 2. A wooden fun box (any kind) 3. A spine (4ft) 4. Some rails and a metal bench That is not asking a lot as this skatepark would serve all of these towns Cambuslang, Rutherglen, Blantyre, Hamilton, East Kilbride, Bothwell, Bellshill, Uddingston and parts of Glasgow People may come from further...we go to Kippen, which has just about the same as what we have asked for, and we come from Glasgow. We only ask for this...oh, and one more thing...can you please make the skatepark? |
