Meath's reign as Leinster Champions came to a swift end last Sunday as a lacklustre performance against Offaly literally left Séan Boylan speechless - a rare occurrence by any standards. However it wasn't at the hands of a brilliant Offaly team. 35 year old Vinny Claffey dominated the Offaly forward line and almost scored a goal in the first half. As most analysts now agree this leaves the door wide open for Dublin to record its first LSFC title in five years. In truth Meath played poorly and arch-poacher, Ollie Murphy was well marked (lessons to be learned Péadar Andrews). However even with Meath out pundits still do not consider Dublin as having a real chance of winning the All-Ireland, sad when you consider that Galway are favourites! Truly this has to be Dublin's year. It has been a long time since we've been handed such a clear path to the final. I hope we take it.
