The Blue Pashmina Shawl

'No dont ask me' you say
and you cover your eyes
'done' i say and pray
i hide feelings i despise.
for all your arguments, force
i present a face where
you try your best, your worst
and we go on from there.
your eyes, questioning, crawl
over mine, deciphering my rules
i unwrap and fold your shawl
light with the wisdom of fools.

Unbroken

if i have no love for you

then why are my lips without words?

if i have hidden this love

then why does your silence test me?

if this is not love

then what do you call longing?

my silence unbroken, i retreat

for i do not love you.
