Death Count

In many missions found all over the net, there is a certain counter at the top left corner of your screen which records a certain amount of points each time you kill a unit. This is a very easily accomplished effect using the action "LEADER BOARD (POINTS)". Here is an example:

PLAYER(S):

All Players

CONDITION(S):

  • ALWAYS
    Always

    ACTION(S):

  • LEADER BOARD (POINTS)
    Show Leader Board for most "Kills and Razings"
    Display label: "Experience"

    There, that's all, a genuine RPG-ish counter =] You may want to change the conditions to something else, as many times in certain maps, the counter only goes online when a certain event has taken place, for example: when you've picked your character in an RPG. You may also want to change "Kills and Razings" to something else, such as only "Kills" where kills from buildings won't be added to the score.

    To modify the points is also very simple, but many get mixed up for various reasons. A "kill points" counter gives different amounts of points for different units, depending on the unit strength, armor, general effectiveness and other attributes. To modify this counter, use the "SET SCORE" action. Example:

    PLAYER(S):

    Player 1

    CONDITION(S):

  • BRING
    "Current Player" brings "exactly 1" "any unit" to "gain experience"

    ACTION(S):

  • SET SCORE
    Modify score for "Current Player": "Add" "100" "Kills and Razings"

    This trigger will add one hundred points to the counter for player one once he has brought any unit to a location named "gain experience". Obviously, this is a lot more flexible than I may be displaying it, you can change whichever players, if you wish to add, set, or substract a specified amount of a certain type of points to the counter.

    As I mentioned above, each unit in StarCraft carries it's own tag on how many points are earned if that unit is killed. Here is a list:
