ST. ANDREW'S SOCIETY OF GIBRALTAR

Family Barbecue at Queensway Club Pool; Friday August 3rd, 8.00 p.m. Adults, £5; kids under 12, £2.50

Following a record turn-out for the AGM (about 20), you've finally got a new Secretary, and a nice new (well, not totally new…) Committee to play with!

The new committee consists of:

Chairman - Colin McHard; Treasurer - Tim Turner; Secretary - Carol Maxwell with supporting rôles from Sandra Licudi, Andrew Licudi, Désirée McHard, Carole Sharrock, Mario Mosquera, Stuart Watkins, and…. of course………..John Honeyman.

We also had a record turnout for the Quiz, which was won by Peter Rodney and his Mum. More importantly; Lorna Swift (from the team who came second) took on our small Spanish dog which you were lucky enough to receive a photo of on the back of the last newsletter; so many thanks to all those who helped look for a home for "Widget" (as she is now known).

The new committee have plenty of plans for events this year; in September there is going to be a haggis and wine tasting evening; next March / April we're arranging a trip to Doñana; and on the evening of Friday 3rd of August, the McHard & Turner Barbecue Show is once again appearing at the Queensway Club pool, hosting a family barbecue for your delectation and delight!

The evening starts at 8.00 p.m., and finishes when the last banana is coaxed from it's skin; so come one, come all - we'll look forward to seeing you up at the Queensway Club pool on Friday, 3rd August!

Regards

Tim Turner, Not Secretary Any More.
