 LEAFLET INTRODUCTION AND FAREBOX EXPLANATION
Click on the image for a larger version. | As can be seen on the left, there were 4 basic services on the imcomplete busway in 1973, T1-4. At this time Crosville used a letter prefix for every route, and T was allocated to Runcorn Busway services. J had been the old Runcorn local services prefix. T1 and T2 journies only went as far as Norton Priory School a few times a day, as was relevant to the school hours (most services terminated at The Park). Similarly, througout most if the day, only two journies per hour on T2 actually continued to Whitehouse, most terminating at Palacefields. Both T1 and T2 were very frequent, running every 12-14 minutes. From Astmoor, there was one T3 journey per hour to Handforth Lane, and one T4 to Palacefields. At Peak times, the services chaged a lot. Service T1 was reduced in frequency, T2 reduced to every 15 minutes with most journies serving Whitehouse, and T3 was increased in frequency. The layout of the leaflet does not make it easy to work out service frequencies at these times - the pages list all services from a point, with say T1 and T2 times together for services to the Park, and no way to tell them apart, as below:
