Rising of Chaos

A Live Action Roleplaying System based in
Hampshire in England.
Greetings one and all this simple
site has been created to give you the basic information that you will need to
stumble happily into the world of Vaklam and begin Larping with our humble
Group. Read On:
Aim: Our aim is to provide fun. We all know that our
hobby can be an expensive one, wargaming, roleplaying and yes Larping can cost,
so we try to keep ours down. Also we keep to Roleplaying, I know that is what
all the other sites say but we do try (as my friend always says " You can't
escape the odd powergamer", and also character specialisation. That is to say
that we attempt to work with you as you build your character and keep specific
files deep within the vaults of Zip Discs and morasses of paper all about your
character, who they have met, what they have done and how it will affect them in
later life. It is all about you guys.
Achievements: Over 5 years we have
sprung up from a group of four guys and a bearded beast to a healthy group of
about 50 players. We have gone from Larping kit that was nothing more then a
feeble collection of stocking fillers to a somewhat uncontrollable collection of
kit that is developing a mind of its own. We now use several sites both indoors
and out: Forts, woods, tunnels and so forth and are planning weeks away in places
such as Cumbria and Snowdia National Park, there are even rumours of new
branches setting up in different parts of the country, nay, the very world. The
manual has grown from a rambling collection of thoughts to a decent tome that
provides necessary information and is actually helpful and does not bog you down
with endless rules (As my same friend is fond of saying "Who needs rules
anyway").
Style: Yes we do have some, we run fantasy events (mostly). It's a
personal system, we look after the players as much as possible, we steer away
from powergaming and go for the fun thing. The system can, for some reason I
have yet to fathom, run as a High, mid or low fantasy setting depending on the
group that books in. We are friendly people and we pride ourselves on the fact
that we cater for the player, we also run a freeform setting that takes place
away from the down the woods in the Forts thing where you can do all the stuff
that cannot be achieved in a tree.
Where are we?: Well you can
find me down the pub usually, but if you want to know where we operate: In
Hampshire, mainly around Southampton but we do go down to Portsmouth and if you
out there know of any pretty cool sites that we have yet to find then we will
come on down and run around the woods/caves/forts/castles/pubs.
When do we play?: Whenever we can, we run events every weekend come rain
or plagues of frogs. We do run some mid-week events when we can find the refs to
run them and we do run 4 day events and weeklong events. We also cater for solo
adventures allowing your character to be more easily slaughtered by the bad
guys.
Contacting Us: You can mail us here you
will find us there to be nice and helpful. If you want to know what is going on
and why there is little info on this website well.... We have been using a
onelist mailing function to store player info and to keep everyone up to date
and in contact. Don't worry if you join this and don't want tonnes of e-mail
then just select no-email or as my friend does set up an account and never check
it. Sigh. The one-list can be found here. By the way you will be asking for Dan or
Steve, if you live in or around Southampton by the way I strongly recommend the
Highfield pub in Highfield. Thankyou.
