An absolute rock-like performance against Man United in late November gave the Gooners some idea of what they'd been missing and what was to come. Ray followed that by an outstanding game against Juventus and a crucial role in the Mother of all Comebacks against Villa. How we missed him in the bear pit of West Ham. All those people who suggested we should let him go for £6 million are looking a little silly now and to be fair most of them admit it. When, in my opinion, he's been eclipsing even the mighty Vieira in large chunks of games, you start to get some idea of how far he's come. Personally I would rather muppet Graham Poll had sent off Vieira than Ray in the Newcastle game. Whether it's the run of games, the fact that the World Cup is on the horizon, the dying down of transfer speculation, or just some new sand for the practice beach football court in the back garden, one things for sure. Arsene did the right thing by not letting the Romford Pele go. The grit and determination of the lad has been awesome and what our midfield has been crying out for these past few seasons.
