Debut Wrestling Promotions News and Fictures
Irish Whip Wrestling
This is the following information from the Owner of the "Irish Whip" Promotion in Ireland.
Wrestle-Zone are going to going to help promote the event on the web, so keep an eye on the UK Wrestling pages for more details, poster, interviews and competition to win tickets to the event in Ireland.
Here is the information released by Simon Rochford..
"There has never been an Irish Pro-Wrestling promotion in The Republic of Ireland before (There’s been a few in Northern Ireland), so the shows in Dublin on June 15th 2002 will be the first ever Irish promoted events. That will make wrestling history in Ireland. The matinee show is at 2:00pm and evening show is at 7:30pm. There will also be the debut of five Irish wrestlers on the shows; they are Lemon, Chaos, Wildcard, Freak & Lynx. Including Ireland there will be wrestlers from five different countries on the two shows, England, Scotland, Austria & America. The venue is called ‘National Basketball Arena’ and will seat 2,400 people for each show, its located in Tallaght, Dublin. The CZW World Title will be defended on both shows and there will be a match between Chris The Bambi Killer and Michael Kovac (Both are Austrians) for the vacant EWA (European Wrestling Association) Heavyweight Title. The winner of that match will defend the title in a Ladder match against the winner of the Johnny Storm - Jorge Castano match at the evening show.
Here are all the wrestlers and matches on the shows:
WWF Tough Enough 1, Josh Matthews vs. WWF “ “ Chris Harvard
In a Barbed-wire Hurley, Gaelic Death match - CZW Champ Justice Pain vs. Zandig
From England - Flatliner, Dominator, Lee Butler, Johnny Storm, Scott Future, Jorge Castano
From Scotland - Robbie McKay
From Austria - Chris The Bambi Killer (Unique Name!) & Michael Kovac (Both these guys worked with WCW for a brief period)
From Ireland - are Lemon, Chaos, Wildcard, Freak & Lynx
++A Hurley is the Irish version of a baseball bat and Gaelic is Irish for Irish++
The promotion will be called Irish Whip Wrestling and I’m going to focus on just ‘Irish Whip’.
If all goes well with these shows there will be return shows in September, they will be in Dublin and Cork. If Cork show is a success there will be four / five weekly nationwide tours a year there after."
