The Q class

Class Q

A series of 12 4-6-2 locomotives built by Baldwin. They had 8-wheel bogie tenders.

Ordered from Baldwin due to the delay in delivering the P class caused by the WWI. During WWII all except 212 were taken by the Japanese for the Siam-Burma line. Nine were eventually returned to FMSR where they continued in service up to 1959. The following photographs are from my collection but I do not know the original source. Top is a north-bound passenger train leaving Kuala Lumpur station while below it 511.02 appears to be at Kuala Lumpur shed.
