TRRT and the *Lorry*
The Start of the Road Trip - Edinburgh 27th October
(Left to right: Me, Abi, Hannah, Katie, Lucy and Elise in front)

How "The Rasmus Road Trip" came about....

Well, the Road Trip began because of the "fiasco" at Reading (yes, i was at Reading - as was Elise and Abi). After what happened there, we vowed to show TR as much support we could. And when they released their Autumn tour dates, we started trying to decide which ones we could get to.

Bristol was the easiest to get to, and so was first on the list. Then we found out it was Aki's birthday for the Newcastle gig, and so that was added. I then realised, that Manchester was the next night and it would be easy to stop off there before we came home, so that was added.
Then we noticed that Portsmouth was on Halloween, and how cool would it be for a Halloween gig, and so we added that one. And of course, with London being the last gig of the tour, we had to do that as well!! Then i was chatting to Lucy one evening and she said she was going to Wolverhampton, but not the Newcastle gig.. so of course, i invited her and she invited me and so Wolverhampton was added to our list.
So that was 6 out of the 8 gigs TR were doing in the UK. A few days before the start of the tour, i was chatting online to Leah and between her and Katie (who was going to be already in Edinburgh) we decided to add the Edinburgh date as it was the first of the tour! So now that was 7 out of 8 dates, and by the time the Wolverhampton gig finished, it was decided that we would drive straight to Norwich and add in the final date! So that was it! 8 out of 8 - and what a Road Trip it was!  The dates were as follows:

Edinburgh 27th October
Newcastle 28th October
Manchester 29th October
Portsmouth 31st October
Bristol 1st November
Wolverhampton 2nd November
Norwich 3rd November
London 4th November

Unfortunately, TR then performed 2 dates in Ireland, which we would have gone to, but me and Abi spent 4 days in Brussels instead. (But i got to hear them on the phone, so that was cool!!)

The Road Trip was a definate eye opener! Thanks to it, i met so many new friends and i am sure i made many enemies in the process, but pah! Live is for living right??

The hightlights of the road trip, by place name:

Edinburgh: getting to meet Leah and Lightrap. The Lorry and Parking Tickets! Being front of the Q and more to the point, holding the Q up so that Katie and Hannah could collect their tickets and keep their front place. The "fake" merchandise sellers and the Chocolate ;) Being so close to the stage we could literally *touch* Lauri... *thinks* Shoe, Leg, Knee, Thigh....~giggles~. Mikko and Aki's Setlist (thanks hun!) and then going out Clubbing it with Leah and her mob after the gig... so much fun!!

Newcastle: Arriving after 11am and there was no-one there! Getting Aki's Birthday Presents to him! Meeting Lynn off the Forum. Putting together all the plans and suprises for Aki's Birthday party in the gig ;) (Handing out balloons and happy birthday banners before we went in!). Making the first ever FIRE Banners, my little dedication to Eero! (It was the start of a revolution!) Being the first person through the door and up the stairs! Hidingplace dedicating "Revelations" to "the 6 girls who were with us last night" and then when TR came onstage, Lauri thanked us for Aki's Cake and pressys! After Hidingplace had finished, we set about blowing up about 200 balloons and passing them over the audience! The Party Poppers during In The Shadows! Singing Happy Birthday to Aki and Lauri saying "He's finally 17!" Pauli's face when he seen our FIRE Banners for Eero... he nearly wet himself!
Eero belting out FIREEEEEEEEEEEEE in response to our banners! Madness driving around Newcastle, where i had never driven before! ;) Uwe after the gig! Playing "Convoy" down the motorway... Stopping just after Red Lights to wait for us!  Uwe - you are just too sweet! I'll have to see you again oneday!

Manchester: Uwe.. bless him! Convoy all the way! Queuing up without having practically any sleep!! The "fans" that arrived around 6pm and expected to join the front of the Q - word of warning to you two, i know who you are and i know how to find u! *grrr* Meeting Lisa *tehehe* bless u!  *Yy Kaa Koo....* Waiting in the freezing cold for them to come out and discussing Slash! Finally getting a photo with Pauli (bless him! But its my worst photo and i need another!!) Getting a photo with Lauri, your such a sweetie and so damn warm... (come back!!) The "pretend" Aki sticking his head out the window to make the Teenies scream (Mikko, u kill me, u really do!!)

Portsmouth: Well, what a drive from Bristol down to Portsmouth, another place i hadn't driven to ever before. When we got there, there was already a little Q forming and we made ourselves comfortable.. it was freezing!  Seen the guys arriving and then went and got changed into our Halloween outfits. Party time! Another amazing gig! After it finished, we headed straight for Bristol, with two other cars in tow!! 3 car convey! Great fun!!
Best night sleep i had that night!! lol

Bristol: We arrived at an unsuitable hour to the venue and i managed to get some sleep. (in fact, its was the best night sleep i had on the whole UK tour!!) Went back to Abi's house as she didn't live far away, and had a nice shower!
Queuing seemed to drag before the gig, but we finally got in and i got front barrier!
The "Reading" related banner on the stage was totally out of place, and definately *angered* some fans. *grrrr* I wouldn't have minded if the people who had given the banner to The Rasmus had actually been at Reading and not done it *just* to meet the boys - i mean how long can you get?
Other than that, the gig was great! Me and Mina had bought some very kinky underwear to throw on for the boys, i threw on for Lauri and it was so funny because they hit him straight in the face! I nearly wet myself it was so funny!!!!!!!! Lets just say he was rather shocked! But laughed it off!!
After the gig finished, i managed to have a photo with Aki - which was cool.
Then we travelled to Wolverhampton.

Wolverhampton: Arrived at a stupid time yet again (but it was great fun! Mwhahahaha!) I wandered most of the day, chatting to people. Seen TR arrive and got a very nice photo of Lauri looking lost...
It was really funny when Eero got off the tour bus and spotted me and Mina watching him, he just grinned and said "Ahhhh.... my backing Singers" - we were like "Woah! How cool!!" *mad grin*
I also had a good chat with Hidingplace, and got to have a nose at their bus.... it was very nice!! (I need one of them next time!!.....the bus i mean!!)
It was absolute chaos when the doors opened, as they opened 7 at once!
During that day, me and Mina had gone shopping and found some very Big underwear... to continue our theme from the night before. But this time we wrote their names on them - it was funny!
Lauri wasn't very well for this gig - but it was a good gig overall!!
Seen them getting on the bus and chatted with Paul from hidingplace.

Around 11.30pm, it was decided we were going to the Norwich gig - no ticket, but we were going! lmao!!
We had a few hours sleep at the hotel and made our way to Norwich!!

I'll add details of these soon!!

Norwich: After the few hours sleep at the hotel, we made our way to Norwich, and when we got there we were greated by the Irish girls... who were having their breakfast... so we decided to join them.
Made a new friend... a little black and white cat.. who we named "Rasmus" - he was very sweet bless him!!
Then we had a little playful banter and chat with the Crew etc. They were really nice and we got them a little pressie off us for being such a laugh all tour.
Then TR arrived... and it was really nice to see them in daylight for a change. I actually managed to get my 1st single signed as well.. which was the highlight of the tour for me! Cause it was my main aim!! Also Lauri was quite impressed that i had it! *grins*
The show itself was great... managed to get front with the Irish girls... and the guys rocked! Lauri sang a little from Smash for the Irish girls.. who had a banner asking for it... and he stuck the microphone in our direction (it was right in front of katie) and got us to sing the little Eero song we had been singing all tour - they were all really hyper bless them!
After the show we chatted to Hiding Place and watched TR leave.  The teenies were mad at this venue, and they all went after lauri... poor bloke!

London: The last one on the tour.... and what a random day it was! We queued all day... only for security to stick us behind a stupid barrier... i ended up being stood with Mina since everyone had squashed in so much... i couldn't get back into my space after going to get something from the hotel room.
But i managed to get front barrier... slightly Eero side.. exactly where i wanted to be!! :D
The show was great! They were all hyper... and i was sorry for it to end!
I didn't wait around too long after the show as i was knackered... i did get an invite, but i never took them up on it.. damn me! Ah well... nevermind, next time right!!

The day after the road trip i was mean't to see Placebo at Wembly.. but i was so knackered i sold the two tickets i had for it. (damn them playing Nancy Boy!)
But then the day after that we went to Brussels for four days.... and it was good.

Here's to the next Road Trip - i am sure it is going to be bigger and better!!

Milage Covered on the Road Trip:
Approx = 1528.3 Miles (2460.56 Kilometres)

Glasgow Barrowlands:
 - August 2004
    Well what MADNESS!
Me and Abi arrived in Glasgow at 8.30am on the Wednesday morning (25th August), thank you Easy Jet.
Having never been to the venue before, we started our little search for it.  We soon got fed up, jumped in a taxi and got it to take us to the venue!

By now it was 9.30am and there was only 2 people infront of us in the Q.
Around midday, with more fans arriving, we heard that Lauri had been spotted shopping around the main Glasgow centre, and me and abi made our way to the main shopping area, on the chance we could see any of the band.

Within 5 minutes of looking around, i bumped into someone i hadn't seen since December when i had been following the LOTR Cast. So we soon hooked up and become 4! Me, Abi, Hannah and Katie.... and then Sharon joined us aswell.

Next thing i hear is Abi saying "Oh that looks like Aki's hat... wait, it is Aki!!" That was so funny.. Abi, Hannah and Katie made a bee-line for him, and me and Sharon just strolled behind.  So they finally caught up with him, he turned around and the three of them just stared at him.. bless it was hilarious! Total Goldfish expressions!

So i talked first, asked him how he was, and if he liked Glasgow.. we then had photos and said we would see him later on at the gig and we let him go.  It was cool. He was really nice.. if seemingly a little scared.

We wandered around for a little while.. but to no luck of spotting Lauri.  Abi then asked me if i had a feeling.  YES, i said.. of course we'll meet lauri, have autographs and piccies and it would be great!!  No-one believed me and Abi said she would lick my feet if it came true.

So we went back to the venue and waited in the Q.

The concert was amazing! Happy Life were the support band and i really like them!  They definately warmed the crowd up just right for TR.

TR came on not much later and were on top form... Lauri was just loving all the attention and the crowd were in awe!
After the gig finished....Abi had been pulled out halfway through and i had acquired a setlist.. we made our way outside.

Eero was wondering around as normal... signing, having pics and chatting with fans. He's really sweet bless him, but a little too laid back for his own good sometimes, he really could do with smiling.. makes him look so sweet!

After quite a wait, Lauri, Aki and Pauli left, however they never stopped because there was at least 60 fans outside, they wouldn't have stood a chance!  So after being offered a lift back to our hotel by a very lovely TR fan... a small group of is piled into her car.

We dropped Sherri off in the main street.. not far from the venue and then got stuck in the "one way" system.  So quickly thinking.. i said "lets go left, then left again and we should be near the venue and if we go straight past, take another left and we should be near mine and Abi's hotel"... and so we did... we went left.. left.. and then another random left.. and all i could hear from the back of the car was "bus.. bus... bus with trailer... OMFG! BUS!!!!" and then it hit me.. TR's tourbus!!! OMG! We stopped the car as soon as we could, jumped out and calmly strolled over to the bus!

When we got to the bus, Lauri was jumping around on the front messing around with Aki.. and then he spotted us, and after a funny 5 minutes.. he came out and "shimmied" next to us and said "hey guys.." i totally had a goldfish moment!! i couldn't speak to start off with...

So we talked about the gig... he said he had seen us at the front with our Glowsticks "giving it some" which was quite funny... and then we talked about Nottingham, Reading and where they are in relation to London, fan names... the length of them, Older TR Albums... where Abi came out with a class saying!

Lauri: *looking at the Playboys album and signing it to Abi* So how did you find it?
Abi: It was in the import section of HMV *grins*
Lauri: No.. *looks perplexed while he thinks..* What did you think of it....?
Abi *the penny drops* Oh, yeah... its great!!!!!! I love it, its my favourite album!

OMG! It was sooo funny! But it still doesn't out-do her "Porn" comment (but thats another story completely!!)
We also had photos and autographs..... it was just surreal... I even managed to make a comment to Aki about Abi having similar glasses... ;) Tehehe

And then it was time for them to go... i had a lovely hug off Lauri before he went..... now dubbed as "THE HUG"... **swoon**
