Diary summary

As a quick summary to the diary pages I have compiled this list. This list outlines all the major items or jobs that I have had to carried out or replace. I haven't mentioned general service items as these are detailed elsewhere.

I won't attempt to add-up the cost of it all but compared to a monthly payment on a newer car it is minimal (and it wouldn't be the same as a Series 3 Landrover - would it ?). Note that this is all since May 1999!

Summary:-

• Leaky rear hub with sheared bolt replaced
• Exhaust downpipe studs replaced and brazed into manifold
• Bulkhead driver floor rusted through. Replaced
• New glazed door tops fitted
• 11" LWB front drums rotated to place pistons top & bottom
• New Girling pistons on passenger front hub
• Four grey modular rims and 750x16 Wrangler AT remoulds plus a spare on the original rim
• Fully soundproofed throughout (BJ acoustics)
• New front parabolic springs and new standard SWB rears
• New ProComp dampers
• New fuel tank and front outrigger
• New passenger floor section
• Electric Kenlowe fan with 'stat replaces original fixed unit
• New front halogen headlamps and plastic rear bowls
• Front driver recoil seat belt
• Spots fitted to bull bar
• Front seats replaced with BLRS high-backs
• Alternator and battery replaced
• Treadplate fitted to sills and rear corners
• K&N air filter onto existing Weber
• New door locks and ignition barrel
• New drivers and rear door seals
• Rear door welded and reinforced. 1/4" treadplate fitted internally.
• Water pump & thermostat replaced
• CB installed
• New reversing lamp
• Rear mat replaced
• New gear knob!
• New hub seals, felt seals and bearings checked and re-packed on all wheels
• New brake shoes all round and brake adjuster cams on front drums (Aug '00)
• Rear light guards
• 1 tonne rear spring shackles
• New rocker shaft
• Reconditioned gearbox fitted
• New Lucas 45D4 distributor and coil
• New clutch thrust bearing
• Rear prop UJ's replaced
• Forward facing rear seat fitted
• Front prop UJ's
• ACR 'Sports' exhaust
• New brake shoes all round after rear hub leak (Sept.'01)
• Replacement fuel pump
• Rear hub oil seal and distance piece replacement
• Front hub oil seal and distance piece replacement
• New rear prop due to worn splines
• Four Blackstar Guyanes 7.50x16
• Aldon/Pertronix Ignitor on the Lucas 45D4 distributor with Lucas gold Sports coil
• New alternator after bearing failure
