This is pretty much a standard 1978 2.25 litre 3 bearing petrol engine. Original 8:1 head and exhaust system. Overdrive used. Driving is fair to hard with mostly on-road use. No towing.
Engine treated with 750ml pack of Slick 50. Now adding Prolong @ each oil change.
This was a rarity and probably was a calculation error? |
As a rolling mpg check with different mods such as the on-going best Weber main jet search to determine the best jet for 95 Octane UK fuel with a K&N on a 34 ICH. See table below.
| MPG | Mods etc. | Date | Use |
| 19.1 | 205 tyres with 170 Weber main jet | June 2002 | R,L |
| 205 tyres with 175 Weber main jet | July 2002 | R,L | |
| 7.50x16 AT tyres with *** Weber main jet | |||
| 18.2 | 7.50x16 'Guyane' MT with 175 Weber main jet | Nov 2002 | O,L |
[Use- R=road; O=offroad; L=local,sort runs; C=Resonable run (cruise)]
Note - Accuracy of the speedo checked against a GPS reference on 10/2/02 and reads +-2 MPH (spot on for an Series LR!).
| Consumption calculation |
| (mileage covered on 7.50 tyres) / (litres consumed/4.545) = MPG |
