    Notes

    As of December 5, 2001,

The name of the book it is based on is called The Lady of the Lake or in dutch De vijvervrouw.

As of August 18, 2001 first reported by the Disney Animation Archive:

I have found out that three Disney Animators have shown the company that they are buying the rights from some sketches what the film will look like if Disney is able to buy thr rights. As of right now, Disney and the owners of the rights still disagree on the amount of money to buy the story, but apparently right now the amount that was offered has alot of zeros in it.

As of July 19, 2001 first reported by the Disney Animation Archive:

Disney is currently trying to buy the rights of a dutch children story written by Godfried Bomans, but hasn't yet. The story is basically all about a spoiled prince. In the story an ordinary girl falls in love with the prince, even though he is very rude to her. He talks to her from his window. When he celebrates his birthday he invites her. His intentions are good but he still hurts her. He gets this strange present, a book which contains strange information about the lady of the lake. He is so curious about the lady of the lake that he decides to look for her. But when he arrives at the lake the lady isn't that friendly. She drags the prince down into the water and locks him up. The ordinary girl had followed the prince and saw what the lady of the lake did to him, now it's up to her to save the prince.
