Mrs. PottsMmm, mm. Chip away from those presents, dear.
ChipMama, I found one for me. Can I open it, Mama? Can I?
    Mrs. PottsWell, just one.
    Chipdisappointed Oh boy!
LumièreIt’s good to see the boy having a proper Christmas, not like last year.
CogsmorthYes, this is much more agreeable. Chuckles
Mrs. PottsWell, I thought last year was quite nice.
CogsmorthYes, well, I suppose I, I did manage to save Christmas.
    LumièreYou?
CogsmorthYes me. If not for my skilful and decisive leadership all would’ve been lost.
LumièreLeadership? Ha! You could not lead a horse to water.
CogsmorthWhat are you yammering about? It was all my idea.
Lumière Your idea? Everyone knows it was mine.
Mrs. PottsHeavens. How many times are we going to have to go over this story?
    ChipStory?
LumièreUntil someone gets his facts straight.
ChipWhy don’t you tell it, mama?
    CogsmorthCapital idea!
    Mrs. PottsWell... I don’t... know
LumièreCome on, Mrs. Potts. Surely you recall how I saved Christmas.
CogsmorthDut, dut, dut, dut, dut, not leading the witness.
    ChipPlease, mama, tell the story.
    Mrs. PottsOh, all right.
LumièreAhh, now we will hear what really happened.
    Mrs. PottsWell, let’s see.
Belle terrified by the master’s anger, run away from the castle... straight into a pack of wolves. But the master saved her. They began to be friends...
LumièreAh, ah, there’s where I came in.
    ChipWhere could he be?
Mrs. PottsGoodness knows! We’ve searched every last corner.
CogsmorthI’m beginning to think he’s not in the castle at all.
Lumière cleans a windows and sees the master walking on the snow
    LumièreVoila! There he is!
    Mrs. PottsWonderful!
CogsmorthNo time to waste. We must find a way to get them together.
Lumière Let’s go. Love will not wait.
ChipYou really think she’s the one? Will she break the spell?
Lumièrepanting I knew it from the moment I set eyes on her.
Mrs. PottsIf anyone can reach the master, Belle can. Such a kind soul.
LumièreAnd her looks don’t hurt either.
    Cogsmorthpanting Wait for me.
Scene changes to show Belle walking in the castle
    ChipHi Belle.
BelleOh hello, Chip. Do you know what day it is?
    ChipWell, it’s not Tuesday-
BelleNo silly. Today is December 24. The day before Christmas.
LumièreAnd what a beautiful day it is. A wonderful day for a morning stroll.
Mrs. PottsYes, yes. Nothing starts the day like a brisk walk around the grounds.
ChipYeah! Or you could go ice-skating, ha, ha wahoo.
CogsmorthYes, fresh air, exercise, ha, ha back cracking in moderation, of course.
Mrs. PottsCome along, Belle dear. The great outdoors awaits.
Belle picks up the ice-skating shoes
    ChipYeah, let’s go!
BelleMerci Monsieur. She opens the door and sees the Beast Oh, good morning!
BeastHuh? Wh-wh-whoa-grunts The Beast fell down
BelleOh dear! Are you all right?
BeastUh-Uh I fell and I landed on my-on, on the ice.
    BelleIt’s pretty slippery.
    BeastYes... it’s slippery.
BelleThis is a perfect day for skating. Come on giggling Come on!
    BeastNo grunts
LumièreGo on master. It might be fun.
    ChipGo for it!
    BeastHum, hum?
    Chiplaughing Come on!
    CogsmorthNot go fast!
    Lumièreooo-ooo la la sights
BelleCome on, why don’t you try it like this? One, two, three, one, two, three, see? It’s easy!
Beastone, two... three, on-ne, two, three.
    LumièreHo, ho, ho
Mrs. PottsYes, I think this may work.
    Everybody laugh
Scene changes. In a dark room inside the castle, a Pipe Organ plays his music, slowly, gloomy
    FifeBravo! Bravo! Encore!
    Maestro Fortechuckles Fife you approve?
    FifeOh Maestro, it’s magnificent!
Maestro ForteOh, come along. It’s merely an opera... The music sounds again and broke all the windows to bring the house down laugh oh.
Fifeis there a part for a piccolo?
Maestro ForteAbsolutely it sounds a demonstration and the notes open a box in which appears a paper... Solo for fife in B-flat.
FifeOoh, I’d do anything for a solo.
Maestro ForteYes the box closes abruptly I know. Now Fifey, in the midst of my crescendo I thought I heard merriment outside the window, Have a little look-see, will you?
    Fife goes to the window
FifeWow! Would you look at that?
Maestro ForteLittle angry Well, I think I might. I’ll just pick myself up and... Oh! What’s this? Heavens! Look, I’m bolted to the wall!
FifeOh, right chuckles nervously Um, th-the master is skating.
Maestro ForteSkating? Why on earth would he do a thing like that?
FifeProbably because that pretty girl is holding his hand.
    Maestro Fortesurprised what? Belle?
FifeHey. Maybe if she falls in love with him the spell will be broken and we’ll be human again!
Maestro ForteTrust me, Fife. Humanity is entirely overrated. Before the enchantment, there was no need... for my particular brand of genius. But now the master needs my melodies... to feed his tormented soul. I am his confidant, and his best friend. And I won’t let some peasant girl ruin it for me! Fife, see to it that this blossoming love withers on the vine.
    FifeYes Maestro Forte chuckles
The camera goes to the lake where Belle and the Beast are skating
BeastOne, two, three, one, two, three, one, two, three, one, two, three excited I think I’ve got it! Belle giggles
Fifepanting Hey, down in front. I wanna see. Let me see. I wanna see too! High-pitched whistle
    AllShh!
CogsmorthQuiet! Oh this is very promising.
LumièreAh, yes, there is something in the air. Could it be love?
FifeLove? Oh, oh, oh, ooh. I’ve got to stop them. Oh!! screaming He-e-elp!! Whoa, oh, oh!!
Mrs. PottsWhat’s that little toot up to?
FifeWhoa! Stop! grunts Belle and the Beast lost the balance, shout and land in the snow
Bellesights Ah make movement with her arms and legs It’s a Christmas angel, see.
Beastgroans, looking at his shadow This is no angel, it’s the shadow of a monster the beast destroys the monster’s shadow and leaves
Fifechuckles happily Oh, Forte is going to be so proud of me.
BelleI don’t know why I bother sights. Now he’s worse than ever.
    Mrs. PottsDon’t lose heart, dearest.
    Maestro Forte’s room
Beast Looking at the enchanted rose I hate Christmas.
    Maestro ForteThe music helps?
BeastYour music is the thing that helps me forget.
Maestro ForteDon’t worry old friend I’m here for you just as I have been, just as I always will be.
    Belle’s room
BelleWhy is the Beast such a grump?
ChipI don’t know. He’s always like that.
    BelleEven at Christmas?
    ChipYep. Belle, what’s Christmas?
Belle Oh, Chip, you must know about Christmas. Stockings in front of the fire? Tree? Tinsel? Presents?
    ChipPresents! Do I get one?
BelleOf course, everyone gets a present on Christmas.
    ChipOh, even the master?
    BelleYes, even the master.
ChipWhat are you gonna get him?
BelleI don’t know him well enough to know what he would want.
    ChipWhat would you want?
BelleWell, what I love most in the world are my books, my stories.
ChipWhy don’t you get the master a story?
BelleYou’re right Chip. A story. She starts to write and draw a story
When I get to know him
We’ll find more things to say
One day, I will reach him
There has to be a way
    Everyone needs someone
    He must need someone too
When I get to know him better
    There’s what I will do
    I’ll read him stories
    From picture books
    All filled with wonder
    Magic worlds
    Where the impossible
    Becomes the everyday
    We’ll find a mountaintop
    And some moonbeams
    To sit under
I’ll lead because I know the way

    So much to discover
I do it all the time
I could live inside bright pages
    Where the words all rhyme
    We will slay the dragons
    That still follow him around
    And he’ll smile
    Yes, he’ll smile
    As his dreams
    Leave the ground

    Stories and stories
    About mermaids, kings
    And sunken treasures
    Magic worlds
    Where the impossible
    Becomes the everyday
    I know a tiny place
    Just a dot
    Too small to measure
    I’ll take him there
    I know the way

    Stories about heroes
    Who overcame
    Their deepest sorrow
    They’ll put hope
    Into his heart again
    He’ll cherish every day
    He’ll find a better world
    And the strength
    To face tomorrow
I’m sure that when he knows the way
    He’ll want
    To stay
ChipDo you think the master will like this gift?
    BelleI do
ChipSo does it men we’re gonna have a Christmas?
    Bellegiggles uh-huh Absolutely.
    In another room...
    Cogsmorthfirmly Absolutely not.
    Glassesdisappointed: Why not?
CogsmorthOut of the question. Not a chance. Dream on. An impossibility. Forget it
    Glassessighing: Come on!
    CogsmorthSuck in that gut.
LumièreMon ami, get with the spirit. Unwind Cogsworth moans
    CogsmorthOh dear.
Mrs. PottsCome on, love. Have a heart.
    Glassesbegging Yeah, come on.
    CogsmorthNo, no, and-let me think-
    LumièreUh, uh?
CogsmorthNo! All sigh This is where I put my foot down. Wait. Get outta-go-The master has forbidden Christmas! He falls Oh dear me everybody laugh
BelleForbid Christmas? No one can forbid Christmas.
CogsmorthHe doesn’t wish to be reminded of his past, and Christmas is a most painful reminder of it. I, for one, do not wish to torture hum.
Belle I, for one, think a little Christmas cheer would do him so good.
    GlassesYeah!
    FifeSpying Oh? Hmm.
LumièreThe girl is right. It is up to us to do something.
CogsmorthGosh! It’s not our place to get involved. No, no, no, no! We just can’t mind our own beeswax, can we? Just have to stick our wick where it doesn’t belong. Lumière burns him Ahh! Glasses laughing Oh, humiliating.
Mrs. Potts Pish posh. I think it’s a wonderful idea.
Cogsmorth But the master doesn’t want it. His castle, his rules.
    Chip disappointed: It’s not fair.
Glassessadly He’s right. It’s not fair.
    CogsmorthDon’t whine, glasses
    Glasseswhining Sorry.
Mrs. Potts Look at us, squabbling and bickering. Breaks my heart to see it, it does. And we used to be at our very best on Christmas. Why, we used to prepare a feast for the entire castle.
LumièreAh, you could have some stuffed turkey.
    BelleCranberry sauce.
    ChipShortbread cookies.
    LumièreMince pies.
    Mrs. PottsPotatoes. Gravy
    LumièreAnd Christmas pudding!
    CogsworthUh, pudding? With, with custard?
LumièreWhat do you think we are, barbarians? Of course with custard. And raisins and brandy... Cogsworth slurps and all those things you like.
    CogsmorthOoh, oh, I-moaning all right.
    AllYes!
CogsmorthBut if the master finds out about this, he will be furious. so everybody keep quiet.
LumièreCome on! What are we waiting for, Christmas?
CogsmorthGood heavens, we don’t have much time. It’s Christmas Eve!
Mrs. PottsI’ll see to the dinner.
    LumièreI’ll get some mistletoes
BelleWe need to brighten this place up.
LumièreBelle, I know someone who will help.
CogsmorthNow, now, wait for me. I’m in charge here. I’m in charge. Everybody leaves the room wait for me!
    In the castle’s tower...
Chipone, thousand one, one thousand two, one thousand three-are we there yet?
    BelleNot yet.
ChipOh boy, there sure area lot of stairs here. One thousand seven, one thousand eight, one thousand nine, one thousand ten...
    Fifepanting
    BelleHello? Hello?
LumièreDo not be afraid mes amis? It is I, Lumière. We have come to pay you a little visit.
    AngeliqueLumière?
    LumièreAngelique.
AngeliqueAh, Lumière finally. I thought we were to be locked away in this dusty attic forever.
LumièreAh Angelique, mon amour. Kiss her Your eyes are still so lovely after all these years kiss her again
AngeliqueLumière, please! You’ll tarnish the halo.
    Belle clears her throat
Lumière Oh, yes. This is Belle our guest.
    AngeliqueHello Belle.
    BellePleased to meet you.
Lumière And this is Angelique. She is the castle decorator.
AngeliqueYou mean was the castle decorator. I am not responsible for this baroque atrocity. When I was in charge, the castle was full of light and beauty.
Lumièrechuckles But cherie, that is why we have come. Gather around, mes enfants. We are planning the greatest Christmas celebration ever! All cheer
    Angeliqueangry No, stop! Belle gasps
    LumièreWhat is it, cherie?
AngeliqueWhy do you raise my hopes--, I, I mean their hopes only to have them dashed? Well no more
BelleBut it’s Christmas Eve. Without you, we’ll never get the castle decorated in time.
AngeliqueHa! Christmas. Humph! I refuse to hope for it any more. I will not be disappointed again.
Lumière But this is to be the greatest celebration ever. We cannot do it without you.
AngeliqueWell, but of course you cannot. Christmas takes planning and organization. No, no I won’t do it. It won’t change anything.
    BelleI believe it will.
    There is more to
    This time of year
    Than sleigh bells and holly
    Mistletoe and snow
    Those things come and go
    Much deeper than snow
    Stronger than
    The strongest love
    We’ll know
    We’ll ever know

    As long there’s Christmas
    I truly believe
    That hope
    Is the greatest
    Of the gifts
    We’ll receive

    As long as there’s Christmas
    We’ll all be just fine
    A star shines above us
    Lighting your way
    And mine
Cogsmorthjust as long as there’s Christmas
    There will be Christmas pud
    Mrs. Pottstons of turkey
    And cranberry sauce and
    Mince pies if we’re good
Lumièrelots of logs on the fire
Alllots of gifts on the tree
    All wrapped up
    In red ribbons
Chipwonder if there’s one for me
    Cogsmorthwe’re due for a party

    Lumièreand we’ll be as shiny
    As a brand-new continue
    Chipafter dinner
    We’ll play games
Mrs. Pottstill the morning right through
    Then we’ll meet
    In the garden
Lumièrethis is what we shall do
    We will build
    Chipwe will build a snowman
    That’ll reach to the sky
    Belleit will stay up
    Until July
AngeliqueThe ribbons take her What are you doing? Stop, stop, stop. Put me down, put me down, Uh, this is ridiculous. Everyone knows that the light go on first. I don’t want to go all the way up there on the top.
    AllAs long as there’s Christmas
    I truly believe
    That hope is the greatest
    Of the gifts we’ll receive.

    As long as there’s Christmas
    We’ll all be just fine
    There’ll always be Christmas
BelleSo there always will be a time
    When the world
    Is filled with peace
    And warmth.
ChipWe are gonna have the greatest Christmas ever.
    BelleOh I hope so, Chip.
LumièreYou on the left, you on the right, follow me. There is decorating to be done.
CogsmorthYes, yes, yes, yes, but keep in mind the master mustn’t fund out.
    FifeOoh yes chuckles
    Beastangry Christmas! She’s planning Christmas?
    Maestro ForteYes, awful, isn’t?
BeastPerhaps she doesn’t know how I feel about Christmas.
    Maestro ForteBut she does know.
    Beast Hmm?
Maestro ForteShe just doesn’t care like I do. She’s actually trying to bring Christmas back to the castle. And you know how much we despise Christmas.
Beastsad The day my life ended.
    Remembering that day
    PrinceBring me my presents.
LumièreHere your Highness. Please accept this humble gift as a token of our appreciation. I know I speak for everyone when-
PrinceAh, just give it to me! Angry A storybook? You call this a present? I hope you have something better for me, Forte.
Maestro ForteYes sir, of course master he plays the pianoforte slowly.
    PrinceWhat is that?
Maestro ForteA small piece in your honor, master.
PrinceEeew! I hate it. Forte, that stuff is gloomy.
    Knocking the door
Princeangry Who disturbs my Christmas? He opens the door and sees an ugly old woman
Old WomanPlease, take this rose... in exchange for shelter from the bitter cold.
Princescoffs I don’t need a rose. Go away you wretched old hag! He closes the door. The old woman converts herself in a beautiful fairy
FairyYou have been deceived by your own cold heart. A curse upon your house and all within until you have found one to love you as you are, you shall remain forever a beast. We see the transformation of the principal characters. Come back to the present
Maestro ForteBut we’ve come so far since then. We’ve risen above the tragedy.
    BeastWhere is she?
Maestro ForteI believe she’s gone to the boiler room or so a little birdie told me.
    Fifechuckling Tweet, tweet, tweet.
    In the Boiler room
    BelleOh!
    AxeAah groans
ToolHey, hey, hey. Come on. Get outta the way. We’re working here.
    BelleOh, excuse me.
    ToolLet’s go, let’s go.
AxeAll right you guys. Now get back to work. The castle doesn’t heat itself, you know seeing Belle. Aye gevault, so what can I do you for, lady?
    BelleI’m looking for a log.
AxeAll right. Logs we got. What do you want? Hard wood, soft wood? We got it all. We got birch, maple, pine, oak... Doi! Concrete. My head. Don’t worry, it’ll pass. So make up your mind already.
BelleIs it all right if I just browse?
AxeSuit yourself, take your time. Me, I got work to do.
Bellesearching for a log Oh, huh, hmm.
Axeto the other tools: Hey, what am I paying you for, being boring? Do that on your own time. get outta here!
BelleShe has just found her “log” Yes. Oh
BeastWhat are you hiding? He picks Belle’s log
    Belle It’s a Yule log.
    BeastHuh?
BelleA Yule log. It’s a wonderful tradition. One log is chosen and everyone in the house touches it and makes a Christmas wish.
BeastMmm, wishes are stupid. You made a Christmas wish last year. Is this what you wished for?
Bellesadly No... but I will keep wishing. And when the log is burned on Christmas morning-
Beast There won’t be no Christmas.
    Belle But-
Beast No-o-o-o-o I am the master here.
BelleHow can you be so selfish?
BeastYou cannot possibly understand.. You have no idea what it’s like to lose everything, to be trapped in your own castle, to be, uh, uh---
Belle --prisoner? The only one holding us prisoner here is you. Well, I’m not giving up she goes out.
    Beastto himself prisoner--.
    Belle’s room
ChipHiya, Belle, you should see the ballroom. It’s all decorated and pretty and there are garlands everywhere. I think the master’s gonna be really excited when he finds out about Christmas.
    BelleWell, he, he already knows.
    ChipReally? Was he excited?
BelleActually, Chip, he’s forbidden it. She opens the window
ChipBut I though he couldn’t forbid Christmas.
Belle You know Chip, he can’t. We’ll have Christmas with or without him.
ChipHooray! Can we get a tree now, Belle? It’s the only thing we’re missing.
BelleAll right then. Let’s go get a tree. But first-shh Belle goes to Beast’s room and left his Christmas present
ChipThe master, hurry. They escaped from the room
    Outside, in the snow
    BelleWhat about this one?
ChipMmm, Mm Nah Too skinny. Come on!
The Beast is watching the scene. Lumière enters in the room and watches also
    LumièreOoo la la
    Beast Oh Lumière
    LumièreShe’s beautiful, no?
    Beast Yes and I’m hideous
    Lumièrewhispering not to mention ill-tempered.
Beasttaking Belle’s Christmas present what? What is that?
LumièreOh, it looks like a Christmas present The Beast is furious and let the present on the table reading the card: Oh-ho-ho it’s for you master. It’s from...a girl.
    BeastMrs. Potts?
    LumièreNo. From Belle.
    Beast surprised Belle?
LumièreUh-uh-uh Master you can’t open it.
BeastWell, why not? It’s for me, isn’t it?
LumièreBecause it’s not yet Christmas. Beast growls Master, we all understand how you feel about Christmas, but when a woman gives a man a gift, she’s saying, “I care about you”.
BeastHmm. But I don’t have a gift for her.
    LumièreIt is not to late.
Beastsighs Well, I guess I could get her a little something. The music of Forte sounds Forte, stop the noise!
Maestro ForteNoise? Noise? This is my masterpiece the Beast growls Master.
Beast I, I want you to compose a song. It’s a present for Belle.
    Maestro ForteWhat? Belle?
    Beastand make it-happy!
Maestro ForteOh, but happiness is so... depressing. The Beast leaves the room and closes the door What’s next? Love songs? Wedding marches? Fife watches by the window It’s all that girl’s fault.
    Outside
    BelleWhat about this one?
    ChipHmm, too wiggly. Too wiggly.
Maestro Forteangry Fife! Pay attention! I need you to pace when I think. The girl is evil, I tell you. She pulls him from my grasp. She fills his head with dreams of love and hope... and Christmas!
FifeWell, what you gonna do? You can’t stop Christmas chuckles
Maestro ForteNo, but I can stop the girl.
BelleChip this is the last one.
ChipThat’s not it. That’s just a weed wishing it was a tree.
BelleChip, we’ve looked at every tree on the grounds.
ChipBut it’s more this way than that.
    BelleIt will have to do.
    AxeAach! Oy, gevault!
    Belle Oh!
    AxeWhat a headache I have
    Belle I’m sorry. I-I’ll get a saw
AxeNo that’s fine. I don’t want I should put you out.
    BelleOh, all right.
AxeDo you have some oil? I just thought a little massage--, but if it’s no, it’s no. Go on. What are you waiting for? Knock yourself out. You never get headaches, I guess. Lucky you.
BelleReally, I can get a saw.
AxeWho wants a saw? I said go ahead with the whacking and the hitting. Who’s stopping you?
Bellehearing the melody Shh, what is that? Ohh, it’s beautiful
Maestro ForteAnd now for a little Fife-
    FifeInhales deeply, high pitched whistling
    Bellerunning after Sultan Sultan, wait!
AxeDon’t worry yourself about me. I’ll just sit here. Snow is fine. A little wet, but who’s complaining?
Maestro ForteYes my dear, come to me
Belle’s climbing up the stairs, going after Sultan
    BelleCome here boy, come here.
Sultan enters in Forte’s room barking and running after Fife
    FifeNice doggy
    BelleSultan?
    FifeBack off, doggy.
    BelleOh. Hello? Hello?
ChipW-Well maybe there’s nobody here. M-m-maybe we should go.
BelleTo Sultan who is barking What’s the matter Sultan? Belle discovers Fife trembling Oh, hello. I don’t believe we’ve met. I’m Belle. And you are?
    FifeFife.
Belleto Sultan Down boy, down. We heard the most beautiful music. Was it you?
Fife giggles Me? You thought that was m-me? Chuckles
Maestro ForteMademoiselle please Belle gasps I am Maestro Forte, court composer and your most humble servant.
BellePleased to meet you Monsieur Forte. I’m Belle.
Maestro ForteYes, the entire castle is talking about you, child. They say you’re planning a Christmas gala. Marvelous idea. The very thing to shatter the master’s dark and gloomy past. But you make this the grandest celebration ever. Have you gifts?
    ChipYep.
    Maestro ForteFood?
    ChipYep
    Maestro ForteGarlands, ribbons, wreaths?
    ChipCheck

    ChipYep, we got ‘em all
    Maestro ForteA tree?
    ChipSee Belle? I told ya
    BelleWell, we found one
ChipBut it was on the piddlin’ side of puny
Maestro ForteChuckling But did you look in the Black Forest? There you will find a tree...better than any you can dream of.
Chip Better? We gotta go, Belle!
    FifeEeeh.
    ChipWe gotta!
BelleChip, we can’t. I promised your master I wouldn’t leave the castle grounds. I gave my word.
Maestro ForteChin up, son. There’s a profound lesson here. Keeping your word is much more important than bringing joy to another.
    BelleYou’re twisting what I said.
Maestro ForteNot at all, I agree with you. Look after yourself. Let the master do the same. Never mind that the tree was always his favourite part of Christmas.
    ChipPlease, Belle? Ple-e-e-ease?
    Belle It looks dangerous.
Maestro Fortechuckling Mademoiselle, you are in more danger in this very room, I assure you.
    BelleAll right.
ChipYes! Belle: We’ll take Phillippe. If we hurry we can be back by nightfall.
    ChipHooray!
BelleAu revoir Monsieur Forte. You’ll keep my secret, won’t you?
Maestro ForteOf course, mademoiselle. The master will remain completely in the dark
    Belle Au revoir Fife.
    FifeAu revoir.
Maestro Forte Fife! I want you to follow her. Make sure that they don’t come back.
FifeOh, yeah, but, maestro, she’s so nice.
Maestro ForteWhen you’re finished fawning, Fife, perhaps you can recommend someone else to play your solo...
Fife NO! I’m going, I’m going.
The Beast’s room. He is preparing the room and meanwhile he’s humbling “Deck the Halls”
    Beast Cogsworth!
Cogsmorth Oh dear. Yes. Oh, oh coming, Coming.
    Beast Cogsworth!
CogsmorthRunning, running. Almost there. You bellowed, sir?
BeastFind Belle. I, uh, well I-She has to hear a song.
CogsmorthYes sir. Right away sir. Uh, yes. Splendid clapping yes, well-splendid ho-ho-ho-ho-ho In Belle’s room Belle? Belle? Where is she? Belle?
LumièreCareful, careful. Too fast! Get out of the way! Stop!
    AngeliqueHuh! Amateurs.
CogsmorthBelle? Here--- Excuse me. Hello? Has anyone seen Belle? I can’t find her anywhere, and the master is demanding to see her. He’s got a song he wants her to hear.
    LumièreHo-ho. C’est magnifique!
Mrs. PottsLast I saw of her she was going with Chip to look for Christmas tree.
CogsmorthRight. We must conduct a search of the grounds. Lumière, you’re with me.
    BeastCogsworth! I’m waiting.
CogsmorthOh dear muttering I’m almost there, sir, uh-uh. Mrs. Potts, stall the master. All right, Lumière, we’re-Lumière? Wait, I’m leading. Me first, you second.
    Outside looking for Belle
    LumièreBelle! Belle! Where is she?
    CogsmorthBelle? Belle?

    CogsmorthLumière, wait.
LumièreHmm? Gasps. They have just discover the prints of Phillippe The Black Forest! Come along! Hurry now!
Cogsmorthpanting Oh no. This is catastrophic!
    LumièreCogsworth, quit dawdling.
    CogsmorthI’m not dawdling. I’m waddling.
LumièreWell, don’t waddle then. We’re in a hurry, you lazy old clock.
The Beast is watching himself at the mirror
BeastHmm? Hmm? Time pass. He is sighing Why am I still waiting? Mrs. Potts!
Mrs. PottsComing sir, Coming! What a brisk day! Why, you look positively chilled to the bone.
    BeastWhere’s Belle?
Mrs. PottsHow about a nice cup of tea, sir? Just a spot.
BeastHmm. Forte, play Belle’s song! Tasting the tea Hot the music sounds, slow and low You’re not singing!
    Maestro ForteDeck the halls
    with boughs of holly
    Fa-la-la-la-la-la
    BeastLouder!
    Maestro Forte‘Tis the season
Mrs. PottsA bit more tea, sir? Good for the heart, you know.
    Beast No, thank you.
    Mrs. Potts Just a spot?
    BeastNo more.
Mrs. PottsWell, there’s always room for tea, love.
    BeastI said “no more”
    Mrs. PottsOh dearie me!
BeastMrs. Potts. Are you trying to distract me?
Mrs. PottsGoodness, no, sir gasps. Heavens Is that a yellow-bellied double-breasted sapsucker? Rare this time of year.
    BeastEnough! Where’s Cogsworth?. Where’s Belle?
Mrs. PottsBelle? We can’t find her, sir.
BeastWhat? Leave me! He takes the magic mirror Show me the girl. I will bring her back.
Maestro ForteNO! She’s abandoned you. Listen to your old friend, won’t you? Have I ever steered you wrong? Led you astray? No, but the girl...
The quickest way to break your heart
    Make you depressed an dill
Is to get tangled up inside
    The side effects could kill
All passion is a waste of time
    A deadly game “pour vous”
    I am your friend
    Your “cher ami”
    I wouldn’t lie to you

    If you must love someone
    May I suggest
    You love yourself
    Just think it through
    You’ll never leave
    And you will find
    You’ll get more rest
    You’ll always feel
    As good as new
    Your freedom is the most
    Important thing, my friend
    You mustn’t bend
    Don’t talk four-hour
    Don’t send flowers
    Don’t write poems
    Don’t sing songs
    And dance beneath
    The stars that shine above
    Don’t fall in love

    Oh, don’t do it

    As soon as your heart
    rules your head
Your life is not your own
    It’s hell when
    Someone’s always there
    It’s bliss to be alone
And love of any kind is bad
    A dog, a child, a cat
    They take up so much
    Precious time
Now where’s the sense in that

    Love tales the wildest heart
    And makes it tame
    If you’re turned on
    Then just turn off
    Emotions are a thing
    All great men overcame
    Please, don’t make this grand
    Catastrophe
    Don’t get attached
    To anyone or anything
    There’s nothing worse
    Than things that cling
    You’ll go to pot
    You’ll turn to drink
    You’ll never rest
    You’ll end up mad
    And looking like
    Some poor demented dove
    Don’t fall in love
    Don’t fall in love
    In the ballroom hall
Angelique No, no, no, no, no, no. They cannot mix bells with holly. Still, I have to admit not bad for amateurs she hears the Beast growling and sees how everything is destroyed I knew this was hopeless.
Outside, in the snow, is dark. The wolves are howling. Fife is hidden
    ChipThere. That’s it! That’s it!
    BelleOh Chip, it’s perfect.
    Cogsmorth Do you see her?
LumièreNot yet. Now, come along. Hurry!
Cogsmorthpanting You go on. I’ll never make it. Save yourself
Lumière Ah, it will be summer before we reach them.
    CogsmorthWhat the-Whoa!
    LumièreHold on!
    CogsmorthOh dear!
LumièreAllez, allez laughs Faster, faster. I think we finally found a use for you. Clock boarding! No, snow clocking! Whatever, ha, ha! Whoo laughs Whoa!
    ChipIt’s the best tree ever!
    BelleChip, you’re right.
LumièreMerry Christmas and a happy Hanukkah!
BelleWe better hurry. It’s getting very stormy.
AxeOy! Oy! Again with the chopping.
FifeOh, I gotta do something. Forte’s counting on me.
    ChipTimber!
Fifehe takes up the key Phew
    BelleTake it away Phillippe!
Fifehe falls down on the snow Oh no, no! He “flies” over the iced lake Ah, ah, ah
    Belle Fife?
Fifechuckling Uh, hi Belle, uh nice tree.
BelleWhat are you doing way out here?
Fife Uh, nothin’ I just was, uh, walkin’. I mean, uh, I love the bitter cold. hee, hee. I mean uh toots. Phillippe is afraid and breaks the ice
BellePhillippe! Oh no! All of them are in different blocks of ice
Chip The tree, belle! We’re gonna lose the tree! The string broke and Chip lose his balance Whoa!
    BelleChip! Oh! Where is he?
    Chipunder the water Whoa! Whoa!
Belleusing the axe she breaks the ice and try to trap Chip but she fails Oh!
ChipHelp! Help! Belle also loses her balance and fells into the water, where she sees Chip. She takes him in her hands
Lumière Hold on, cherie! I will save you!
    CogsmorthOh dear!
Fife Oh no gosh, oh no gosh, oh, no! He sees Belle under the water trying to escape of the ice. He blows asking help
AxeOy, oy, oy he breaks the ice and Belle can go out
Bellegasps Oh Chip, thank goodness you’re safe.
    ChipI wasn’t scared.
Bellethe tree’s rope is rolled in Belle’s ankle OH, no! No! All her friends try to hold her, but they fail. The Beast appears and swims after her
    ChipShe is rescued Belle!
The Beast brings her to the castle. He looks furious
Fife to himself Oh, no, what have I done? It’s all my fault.
LumièreWe all share some blame, mon ami, for daring to hope for a Christmas.
In the castle’s dungeon, the Beast is telling off Belle
    BeastYou said you’d never leave.
BelleI wasn’t try to leave I just wanted to make you happy.
Beastsurprised You broke your word. And for that, you will rot in this dungeon forever.
Belleto herself I should have known you’d never be anything but a beast cries
    Bell tolling
Lumière sighs Midnight. Merry Christmas Cogsworth
    CogsmorthIf only it were
Maestro Forte Oh my dear old friend, I told you not to feel for her. Things were so much simpler before she came along, before we dared to... hope.
Beast Oh I thought she was the one.
In the dungeon, his friends visit Belle
    Chip Belle?
    LumièreAllo cherie
    Mrs. Potts There she is.
    Lumière Merry Christmas.
Chip Doesn’t look so special to me.
Belle Chip, I’m sorry. Nothing’s changed.
AngeliqueI told you nothing would change. I told you the master would not allow this. I told you Christmas was a hopeless folly! But... I was wrong.
    When I felt lost
    And lonely
Not a dream in my head
Your words lifted my spirits high
    Remember what you said

    As long as there’s Christmas
    I truly believe
Belle and AngeliqueThat hope is the greatest
    Of the gifts we’ll receive.

As long as As long as
    Our guiding star
    Shines above
    There will always be
    Christmas
BelleSo there always be a time
When the world is filled with
    Peace and love
Maestro ForteAh, it tears me up to see you this way, Master. Why do you torment yourself? There’s the symbol of your curse. Destroy it, and end these adolescent notions of love and redemption. En d your pain forever. The Beast is not unsure Yes! Do it! Smash it!
Beasta petal falls over the Belle’s present Belle?
Maestro ForteWhat are you doing? What is it? The Beast enters with the book in his hands Oh a storybook! Does this one have pretty pictures you can colour? Laughs Utterly dreadful, master.
Beast NO! This one is different. It’s from Belle.
Maestro ForteWell that would account for the creative wrapping.
Beast angry Quiet! Growls I want to read. He sits in front of the fire and starts to read Belle’s voice Once upon a time, there was an enchanted castle. Its master seemed as cold as winter, deep inside his heart... his cries of anger echoed through the stone wall of the castle... Though surrounded by servants, he was all-alone... and in that simple act of kindness he knew someone cared... Christmas that year was spent exchanging humble gifts...but the greatest gift that anyone received was the gift of hope Mumbling Hmm. Hope.
Maestro ForteNo master, come back! She’ll only prolong your torment!
ChipYou know what Belle? I don’t need a tree to celebrate Christmas.
Lumière I can do without mistletoe.
    CogsmorthWell I don’t need tinsel.
    LumièreOh I don’t need holly.
    CogsmorthAnd I don’t need a wreath.
    LumièreI don’t need ornaments!
    CogsmorthAnd I... don’t need turkey!
    LumièreI don’t need stuffing!
    CogsmorthI don’t need pudding!
LumièreTo each his own, my friend
You know how to get me stressed
But when it comes to making Christmas special
CogsmorthI’m a cut above the rest
LumièreIf you could see things clearly
You would say that I’ve been blessed
    CogsmorthYou can’t hold a candle
    To my timing
    LumièreAh!
I’m a cut above the rest
    BelleYou belong side by side
    You should never be apart
    ‘cause when you’re both together
    You’re really twice as smart
Cogsmorth“Twice as smart”. She does have a point
LumièreYes, well, two heads are better than one. Ooh!.
CogsmorthThey say that as a team
We have got to be the best
    LumièreNow we found something
    We both agree on
We’re a cut above the rest
Cogsworth and LumièreThere’s no doubt that as a team
We two are the very best
Everyone who knows us must agree
We’re a cut above the rest
Belle, Cogsworth and LumièreThere’s no doubt that as a team
You two are the very best
Everyone who knows you must agree
    We’re a cut
    A cut above
    Above the rest
Chipthe door is opened Uh, oh it’s the master.
BeastUh, Belle... Looking right to her eyes Can you forgive me?
BelleTaking his paw Of course. Merry Christmas.
BeastLet’s give Belle the Christmas she’s always wanted.
Maestro ForteSo, Beast gets girl and it’s a happy ending for everyone. Enchantment lifted, and Forte fades into background. No longer important. No longer needed. I think not! It sounds a terrible music that breaks the window glasses
ChipWhat is it, Mama? What’s happening?
    Forte laughing
    BelleWatch out!
    FifeForte!
    Mrs. Pottsgasps Hurry now, hurry.
Maestro ForteCan you believe I never took a lesson?
    BeastGrunting, growling Belle!
    BelleOh, no! Help!
    BeastBelle!
Fifewhimpering, he wants to stop Forte Oh, oh Maestro! Stop! What do you think you’re doing?
Maestro ForteDon’t you see Fife? They can’t fall in love if they’re dead!
FifeI’ll tell you what I see! A big old windbag! Laughs nervously
Maestro ForteYou could have joined me, Fife, but I see my triumph is a solo act A box is open and Fifes sees that his solo is in blank
    FifeMy solo! It’s blank!
Maestro Fortelaughs So naive. You’re second fiddle, Fife. And that’s all you’ll ever be!
In the dungeon. All the castle is trembling and being ruined
    BeastForte!
Maestro ForteWe can remain as we are...forever and ever! Laughs sinisterly
    BeastForte! Opens the door Enough!
Maestro ForteHeavens Master. You’re not singing Forte fights against the Beast with his music as a weapon
    BelleHere we go panting Careful.
    CogsworthOh, no! The bell jar!
    FifeWhoa! Got it! Got it!
    LumièreOh careful!
Maestro ForteIs this happy enough for you, Master? I know I’m downright giddy! The Beast tries to fight against the music
FifeMaster, the keyboard! Forte laughs sinisterly
The Beast takes the keyboard and the music stops slowly
Cogsworth and LumièreGot it, got it. They put the bell jar on the table again
    CogsworthWhoa, whoa
The Beast breaks the keyboard meanwhile Forte gasps and screams. Forte fells down and breaks in pieces
    BeastForte sadly
    In the Ballroom
Mrs. PottsTo Angelique Oh yes, it is lovely
Lumièreto Angelique and you said it was impossible.
AngeliqueUh-uh-uh-uh, I said it was impossible without me.
    CogsworthEveryone, shh-shh! Here they come!
    AngeliqueOw!
Cogsworththe door is opened and appears Belle and the Beast
The setting is perfect. Oh, aren’t they beautiful?
Bellegasping and admiring the room It’s wonderful! Everybody laughs and cheers
    To the present
Mrs. PottsAnd what a wonderful Christmas it was. I suppose if anyone saved Christmas, it was Belle
    PrinceMerry Christmas one and all!

    FifeI’d be delighted! Chuckles
The Prince and Belle go to the balcony. The Prince offers to her a box with a single rose. They both look to each other with love in their eyes.
