Role Playing
Dragon's Lair;
This is my favorite arcade game. I can play this for hours, because it is fun and exciting to watch
what happens to the hero. You must rescue the princess from the dragon in his lair.

Dragon's Lair 3D High Definition:
This is an update to the coin-operated game that came out in 1983. But this version has so much more going for it, I was floored with what I found out. The arcade game, had only 40 rooms in the castle, while this updated game, are you ready for this? Has been filled with more than 240 rooms in the castle. The regular forty rooms are in the game, but what was added was awesome.
The gameplay is great, you get to control Dirk's every move. It is no longer just the sword buttom, and the direction arrows. You can make him run, walk, roll, sneak, and so on. Plus the sound FX are from the game, as they reused them to keep it close to the first. They also did that have the textures as well. The old 40 rooms, look just like they did in the arcade version, except, they are in 3D.

Freelancer;
Thou there very few Role Playing games that I like, this one has me hook. The storyline of the quest is great, but you can free roam if you want to. One of the best things that I like about this game, is that you can fly the ship from the cockpit view. Makes the battles that much more intense, especially when you get hit, and you see the shields light up. The sound in the cockpit is different from that of the outside view. The both sound sets are great. The weapons each have the own unique sound to them.
The graphics are very nicely done too. Love the way each system has it own look to it. And the same can be said for the Docking Stations, Battle Ships, Space Stations, fighters, and so on. You get the picture. The different cloud textures are something else too. As you fly into one, you cannot see as far, and you really have to look for what you are going after.
Then there are other dangers to worry about, Mines, Flamable Gases, Enemy Ships, and Weapons Platforms, Just to name a few. And the user interface is a little hard to learn at the beginning.But if you are into gaming, I think you cannot go wrong with this game.

Grand Theft Auto 3;
I have been playing this game since it first came out. There are several things about this game that I don't like.
1. They doesn't let you use a good steering wheel and pedal setup.
2. Will not let you use a good joystick. ( standards you can )
3. This is one of those games that only let you play one level, while the others are locked.
4. It is really hard to control the cars in tight streets using the keyboard. Not even with the voice control program, is the controls any better.
Now, for the things I do like about this game.
1.The car radios are a nice touch, and funny to listen to.
2. The idea behind the game is new and refreshing.
3. The graphics are pretty good too. But they are not as good as RTCW. RTCW has spoiled me in the eye candy dept.
In this game, you can do whatever you want. You have free range of movement. Or you can do the missions that are in there.
If it were not for the lack of steering wheel support, I would like this game a lot better.
Site info for their game.................
You've been betrayed and left for dead. Now you're taking revenge, unless the city gets you first. Mob bosses need a favor, crooked cops need help and street gangs want you dead. You'll have to rob, steal and kill just to stay out of serious trouble. Anything can happen out here.
Grand Theft Auto returns this Fall on the Playstation®2 computer entertainment system. It will appear on PC CD ROM n Spring 2002. Featuring a fully 3-D living city, a combination of narrative driven and nonlinear gameplay and a completely open environment, the game represents a huge leap forward in interactive entertainment. For the first time, players are put at the heart of their very own gangster movie, and let loose in a fully-realised 3 dimensional city, in which anything can happen and probably will.
With a cast of hundreds, 50 plus vehicles, ranging from sports cars to ice cream trucks and from boats to buses, 3 hours of music, including opera, reggae, house, drum and bass, pop and disco, a huge array of street ready weapons and some of the seediest characters in video game history, Grand Theft Auto 3 is a sprawling epic which will show you that sometimes, crime can pay and sometimes it can pay you back.

Morrowind, and Tribunal
Thou I am not into Role playing games, this one has me hooked. The main reason I like it, is the fact that it is a 1st person view. ( You can choose a 3rd person view if you wish) There are a lot different types of roles you can play in this game. Nord, Mage, Thief, and so on. I have played two of the different roles, and the enemies I faced were different from the other role that I played. The map is huge, and you will see a lot of area loading messages. The add-on pack (Tribunal) is a very large city with sewer system that you must explore. It is just as good as Morrowind.
The sound that is producted to very good, and so are the models too. You will need a high end system for this game thou. I would use no less that a 1Ghz rig and at least a GeForce 3 video card.

Morrowind's Bloodmoon;
This is the second add-on for Morrowind, and just like the first add-on, you have to find your way there. though, it is not as hard as Tribunal was. The new map is about 1/4 quarter the size for Morrowind mainland. But the diverse terrain is not to bad, but it does change rather quickly. I have been in this map for about three hours now, and can say that this will be a good addition to your Morrowind game. One word of warning tho, never turn your back on a bear. Even if you walk up to one, and it does not attack. If you do, you will see what I mean.
Speaking of bears, the animals in this add-on look quite good, something along the lines of Trophy Hunter 2003. I did find something that was not in the first two add-ons, and really liked it. Sorry, but I cannot tell you about it, cause ( honestly, ) it would ruin it for you. The one thing that I did not like about this, was the fact that even with the high end PC I have, I had to turn the resolution down to 1024, by 768 32 bit color. I could run the game before Bloodmoon at max rez, but not with this add-on in the game too.

I wasn't sure about this game, so I put off playing it for a long time—till my little brother installed it. After the success of Myth, and Myth 2; I was really interested as to how well this game would stand up to my expectations. God Games & Mumbo Jumbo developed this game, and to my surprise there is little or no tech support. I was very surprised at this because the game had a lot of bugs. A lot of them seem to be windows related, and since I have abandoned windows 98 for XP Pro; I cannot see myself going back anytime soon. I was really hoping the developers would keep patching the game, but it seems that they have no real time and money to invest in such a task.
One of the things that got to me; was the way Quick Time had to be installed in order to play the game properly (I personally hate QuickTime—for many reasons, but we won't get into that now.) All the cut-scenes were done in QT format instead of mpeg or avi, meaning that the picture quality was horrible.
Graphics: I played this game at my usual 1024X764 @ 32bit, and I was pretty happy with the performance. Very beautiful Myth style landscapes, small plant graphics, and very nice pixel shading lighting effects; make this game a real treat to look at. I was very amused buy the LOD (level of detail), each character and NPC looked very nice indeed. Water effects were nothing special, and the gore wasn’t either.
Sound: Very well done! The music and story telling was more than phenomenal; traditional Celtic music is played in the games option menu, with very nice voiceover’s, and Celtic like story telling—This game will get you well absorbed in its plot. I actually felt like I was a part of the game; which is not often. Only down side; is that there is no in game music—just sound effects.
Game Play: Since this game is nothing like the traditional RTS, I found it quite challenging at times. Most missions you are given 6 fighters, 4 archers, and 2 torch holders (for light); which can be very hard to keep alive since you cannot build camps, and structures to build a powerful army. Control’s although many; were very easy to get used to, all setting like camera options, and so on are all there to customize. For first timers I recommend playing this game on “weak” just to get the hang of things. I still can't get over this games bug problems, after I downloaded a patch in hopes for fixes; I came to the realization that this game was almost unplayable on Windows XP (even under windows 95/98 compatibility.) Here are some examples of the bugs I found:
So really folks; the only real seriously bad thing about this game is the stability. Other than that; the game holds true to the Myth genre.
Here is the Myth 3 web site (if you are interested in looking at the screen shots, and downloading the available demo.):
