Since it getting around the time where the Beats' original muffler should be about to give out, & due to a flood of orders recently I thought I'd dedicate a page to the options out there on the market. I have not changed the muffler on my Beat for one simple reason, I use my car to commute to work, and Honda won't let me! But, I have listened to a lot of them through my Beat activities here in Japan and will give you a personal ranking, 5 stars being the best. _______________ Mugen Coming in at 65,000 yen this Mugen offering is almost the most expensive chunk of SUS304 you can throw on the back of your Beat. As it is a Honda related company the compatibility of the 45mm silencer is guaranteed, and the finishing pipe tops out at 76.3mm. It is also JASMA approved, so quite a nice sound. Dyna makes two versions of their 'ear splitter' a semi and full stainless steel version, without silencers they come in at around 18,000 for the semi stainless and 21000 for the SUS304 version. Without the optional chrome plated silencer (1400 yen) they wouldn't pass any roadworthy test in the world, you can tell one coming a mile off. Not that its an objectionable sound, but you will be turning heads as you pass with the occasional 'pop' on down shifts.
