we've got a versatile MSDS here, from Cumberland Swan, covering the whole range of their isopropyl alcohol products, from a mere 50% (100 proof) to 99% (198 proof) purity. for fire play, 70% is about the minimum, a weak flame and low temperature, sometimes used by pros to wipe fire from a torch onto their [shaved] body, particular over the abs or along an arm. but go up to 99% and the color and heat get brighter, and as Eric Bagai of New Zealand's Beaming Balls Limited points out, approaches the power of gasoline, and fumes get fire breathers & eaterss drunk, so watch out! and heads up: since the small milky-clear plastic bottles sold in the U.S. and their labels look the same, be sure ya get ISOPROPYL alcohol and NOT ethyl alcohol (commonly called rubbing alcohol as is isopropyl), witch hazel, hydrogen peroxide, or any of da other stuff which comes packaged just as generic-lookin'! also, keep ya isopropyl capped, or it'll absorb moisture and lose alcohol so its percentage drops 'til it's wet & useless.

MSDS's (Material Safety Data Sheets) may change when chemical formula changes, check the manufacturer for the latest, though in practice, they change very little for well-known compounds. here's Cumberland Swan's isopropyl alcohol MSDS as of August 2002:
