Aims:

1.	To work proactively with our Industry to achieve Cultural quality in Tourism.

4.	To stimulate the recognition by the Tourism industry of quality Maori Business practices.

5.	To promote Cultural integrity and the respective kaupapa of Hapu and Iwi Maori.

6.	To strategically market Maori products and services and to insure commercial viability.

7.	To share the diversity of Maori products and services in tourism to the global market.

8.	To participate globally in cultural tourism and in education training programmes.

	2.3	To advise on the feasibility of tourism in culturally sensitive areas.
	2.4	To promote the sustainability of the environment through the education of visitors.
	2.5	To promote community and cultural tourism products that sit comfortably with the lives and aspirations of the culture.

 3.	To continue authentication of Maori Tourism products.

	3.1	To encourage and support emerging and ongoing product development.
	3.2	Research key markets to identify changing market needs and expectations.
	3.3	Develop and identify tourism product opportunities.
	3.4	Assist Hapu and Iwi to develop feasibility studies and viable business plans.
	3.5	Assist Hapu and Iwi to network with viable New Zealand tourism operations.
	3.6	Endorse owners of new tourism ventures through the support of kaupapa and business advisory services.

 4	To stimulate the recognition by the Tourism Industry of quality Maori business practices.
	
	4.1	Establish the Maori Tourism Development Board logo as a seal of authenticity and quality in business operations.
	4.2	To instigate an overall awareness of the logo as a symbol of quality within the tourism industry.
	4.3	To establish an awareness of the logo as a symbol of quality and standards in business within the Maori arena of tourism.

 	4.1	Establish the Maori Tourism Development Board logo as  a Seal of authenticity and quality in business operations.

	4.1.1	Acknowledge the strengths of Hapu and Iwi kaupapa with traditional and contemporary forms of tikanga.
	4.1.2	Develop criteria for the use of a symbol of authenticity.
	4.1.3	Develop an accreditation process.
