Common Spotted Orchid

These appear every year not far from my home. (This was taken with the sub~1MP digital)

Common Ragwort with hoverfly

Photographed in the same locaton as the orchid pic above. Very common, these are often seen in late summer, completely bear of leaves and covered in black and yellow caterpillars of a day~flying Burnett Moth.

White Bryony

This is a curious vine that scrambles over hedgerows in summer. Looks a bit like Hops.

Red poppy and seed heads

This was photographed using my partner's Pentax compact in our previous garden. It shows the last poppy flower of the season!

Unknown Umbeliffer with flower bugs

Not quite sure what species this is, could be Pignut.

Yarrow (Achillea)

This very common member of the rose family has really delicate filigree leaves. The flowers are usually white but often have a pink tinge. There are now several garden varieties grown too!
