Australian Shepherd Dog
Darlington dosgshow, September 2002

These are Australian Shepherd dogs, known as Aussies.
They have a docked tail which is a practice that I feel should be banned with ALL dogs!
This is a Blue Merle variety.

New Life-October 2002

Walking along a tree lined path I came across this dead tree and noticed it had a plant growing out of it.
The plant is Herb Robert, (Geranium robertianum.)

Collie, 14 September 02

Gorgeous coat on this dog, bet it takes some work though!

By the river, October 02

I was walking along the river on a sunny day and took this shot, then after scanning it in I cropped it to panoramic format then flipped it upside down!

Farmer's Gate

This is a farmer's gate with some red rope attached. It has been worked on digitally by a friend, the sky removed and the colours accentuated to give a graphic look.

Frozen

This is a log under the ice! I saw it while walking along my regular route and decided I wanted a photograph of it. I couldnt use my tripod as there was no way of setting up in this location so i just hand held and held my frozen breath!

Shadows 2

I am but a shadow of my former self....

Oak tree shadow September 2002

Saw this shadow cast across a potato field one late afternoon.

    Fairy on dock
September 2002

This is a thistle seed caught on a dock plant. We used to call them fairies as a kid and try to catch them before making a wish!

Rainbow

This is my first ever photograph of a rainbow. Seconds later I got drenched!

Blue
Jan 03

While walking one extremely foggy day I noticed this bright blue gas main marker.

Bracket Fungus
Feb 03

I came across this clump of a fungus growing on a dead tree and wanted to photograph it.
Unfortunately it was in the midst of a hawthron bush and so I had to prise the branches aside and hold them back while pressing the remote release.
I can still remember the cold on that day!
