The planned week long trip to Scillies did not happen due to work, but I dropped everything for the Cream-coloured Courser that arrived to tour the Islands, this involved a mad overnight dash to get an early flight from Newquay to a wet day on St Mary's, then to St Martin's on a packed boat, fortunately the weather cleared in the afternoon and I and Paul Hackett met up with Steve Young, and a good many others, to delight in this desert bird, a much needed UK tick, having missed the Essex bird 20 years ago.

Elated from an afternoon of very close views of this pink gem we headed back to St Mary's golf course as there were three Buff breasted Sandpiper showing well there, plus an excited Paul Gale. Lots more pictures later and with the light fading we all went for a pub meal and a good few celebratory beers. Many thanks to Steve for the overnight accommodation, sorry about the snoring!

The other goody for me was this Wryneck at Landguard, at long last one that allowed me prolonged views and good shots..stunning.
