The summer seems to have passed by very quickly, but there has not been as many good rarities as there was last year, so I have been catching up with getting pictures of commoner birds. Dipper have always been a favourite of mine, the bird below being one of the most confiding I have ever photographed, at on point it sat on my boot and preened!
This young Heron was also quite a poser, but it only ever caught small fish.
Getting good flight images has always been one of my passions, again Titchwell was the place that I seemed to have the best luck, the Little Egret and golden Plover images were both taken there.
It is very easy to overlook Pheasants, they are none the less a very photogenic bird.......
and Pied Wagtail are too, there has been a lot of young ones about this year.
A late season trip to the Farnes gave me a seabird 'fix', this time I concentrated on flight shots mainly.
Red legged Partridges are usually good value photographically, this one posed on a dry-stone wall for me.
Late summer at Titchwell produced some nice images of young Sedge and Reed Warbler, these would show off well right beside the footpath on the less windy days.
Now into October a few good birds started to show up, The Scillies being the place to be for them, but also there are some very splendid and tame Song Thrushes there, despite the adrenalin rush of seeing the birds shown on the next page, I spent time topping up my stock of pix of these smart birds.
