Updated images taken at about 5:00pm 11th March, I also saw this bird passing a vole to a nominate female bird at about 5:45pm, annoyingly this happened in failing light to far off to photograph.
Pictures of the dark breasted barn Owl taken early morning 25th Feb 2003 showing the dark grey upper wings, longer legs and the 'punched in the eyes' look, the facial disc also stands out in clear contrast to the head and breast.
