Max leaves the house to go for a walk down to the lake to
clear his head, he stops to check the mail box and then continues down the
street. He walks while staring at the floor when he hears a bike and looks up,
he looks hopefully and then thinks to himself, no it couldn’t be and carries
on walking. Steph parks the bike and takes off her helmet she looks back at Max
walking down the street and wonders whether she should go after him and tell him
her true feelings. She looks at the floor deciding against it then goes to walk
into the house, stops and then turns and runs.
Steph: Max, Max wait I need to talk to you
Max turns suddenly, a look of shock on his
face.
Max: Steph what are you doing here,
She stops in front of him
Steph: I came back because, because I, there
was something that I had to do
Max: Oh well have you done it
Steph: No actually
Max: Why is that?
Steph: Because I am terrified
Max: Of what?
Steph: Of rejection, of rejection yet again
Max: Steph I’m sure that no one could ever
reject you and I’m sure that Alex won’t I mean u 2 are already together.
Steph: Alex, it’s not Alex, and I am so
terrified to tell this person that I....
Max: That you what?
Steph: That I love him, more then I have ever
loved anyone and I am so scared that he doesn’t feel the same way.
Max: Steph, this person would be crazy not to
be crazy about you. (he’s in denial that its him)
Steph: I’m glad you feel that way Max cause
its you and I can’t hide it anymore, it’s just too hard.
Steph realising what she has just said looks
at the ground, they both stand there in awkward silence no one wanting to speak
first.
Steph: Look I’m sorry this was a bad idea. I
just I can’t do this anymore I can’t.
Max: Do what?
Steph: This I cant do this Max it’s tearing
me up inside, there are so many reasons why I shouldn’t feel this way but I do
I can’t stop and I just thought that some how telling you would make it all
easier. So........ yeh bye.
She turns and starts to walk away
Max: Steph, were you not gonna let me respond?
Steph: Look Max there is nothing to say I
just, I wanted to make sure that you knew how I felt even though I..... I know
that I’m not the one you wanna be with.
Max: And do I get to tell you how I feel?
Steph: I already know ok Max.
Max: No, from the way you are talking I
don’t think you do. She turns to face him as he walks up close to her.
Max: I think about you every single minute,
every time I see you I wanna wrap my arms around you. It has been so hard for me
to watch you with Alex, it cut me up inside. I wanted to tell you how I felt but
every time I saw you I couldn’t find the words and then you were gone.
Steph: I’m not gone Max, I’m right here.
He walks towards her takes her in his arms and
they kiss passionately afterwards they stare into each other’s eyes.
