The original models in Highlands Ranch. The "Groves" series are only a slight modification of the "Summit" series in Mission Viejo Aurora. The "Stoney Point" series are only slightly modified from the "Willowood" series in Aurora. Mission Viejo only built the Northridge area of Highlands Ranch. The other areas were simply developed for other builders. Shea Homes now continues to develop Highlands Ranch, with little mention of Mission Viejo Company's involvement. |

Mission Viejo learned much about the Colorado market by building Mission Viejo Aurora. For a time, Highlands Ranch was also called Mission Viejo until they decided on the more local name. Several things were changed and their dream of creating a vast development larger than Mission Viejo California is about to come true, with continuing development. |
