A long time since the site was updated, but I've taken the opportunity to add some more sections and tidy the site up a bit. I've done away with the old news so here's an extra large dose of relevant news. Happy Easter to everybody as well. The album 'If You Happy With, You Need Do Nothing' was released on 26th March, through Twisted Nerve and debuted at number 62 in the album chart. The album has been getting good reviews, the majority of which can be seen in the Reviews section Alfie have just completed their first ever headline tour, if you missed them, the good news is that they are supporting everybody's mum's favorites Coldplay, the bad news is that the tickets sold out ages ago. The official site reports that Alfie's second Peel Session will be repeated this coming Tuesday, that's the 17th April, on John Peel's show from 10 pm onwards on BBC Radio1 Alfie are currently been shown on MTV 2 with highlights of their London Astoria show where If You Make No Bones and It's Just About The Weather are being shown alongside performances by JJ72 and My Vitriol. There have also done their own selection hour which is currently being shown and features the elusive Make No Bones video and their selections: Beck
- Dead Weight Also Alfie had their first ever proper feature in the NME last week, you can read it here, thanks goes to Holly for transcribing this. Umlaut from the album is on the CD with May's UNCUT magazine (it has Depeche Mode on the front). The band are featured in the magazine, in the hotly tipped section along with the fantastic I Am Kloot and The Avalanches. Alfie were also featured on Radio 1 Monday 19th February with highlights of their show at Oxford Brookes University as part of the NME Tour, the songs broadcast were It's Just About The Weather, Summer Lanes and Bends For 72 Miles. Also on Wednesday 21st February, the band were at Fuse FM in Manchester to perform acoustic versions of Sure And Simple Time and Check The Weight which were broadcast live as well as the usual banter. Also the band were featured on the NME Carling Awards CD with the 24th February edition of the NME with 'It's Just About The Weather'. |
