A bit late getting this loaded onto the site but I would like to thank Welsh Football magazine and Team Media in Newtown for choosing the Mid Wales Football website as it's winner in the 'Best New General Football Website in Wales' competition. Below I have copied the article that appeared in The County Times, 31 May 2002.

"Machynlleth based Ali Nicoll has been recognised in the annual Welsh Football Website Awards - awarded at the end of each season [by] national soccer magazine Welsh Football.

Ali's site - devoted to covering football throughout the Mid Wales area with results, fixtures and tables - was judged to be the best in the field of 'Best New General Football Website in Wales'.

The award was made by magazine editor David Collins and internet advisors Team Media of Newtown with the decision announced in May's edition of Welsh Football magazine. David said: "What we particularly liked about this site was that it attempted to provide an information resource in an area somewhat neglected on the internet. It's clearly presented, updated regularly and has an innovative shopping links. We certainly felt Ali deserved recognition for having created such a useful site in short space of time."

Welsh Football magazine is the national football magazine for Wales and recently celebrated 10 years of publishing. An independent publication, it is written completly by volunteers and bids to provide coverage of all levels and aspects of Welsh Football."
