about

The Mission

Photography has a vital and central place in contemporary culture. This archive is primarily a repository for personal experience and memories of the years spent at Mfantsipim, but we hope it will grow large enough to be used as a tool for historical research.

The site should benefit from the new electronic imaging media which will shape the twenty-first century much like photography did the twentieth. Although old photographs will still have to be scanned before being sent over the internet, it’s now possible for someone to take a picture on Kwabotwe Hill with a mobile phone and have it uploaded to the web site in a matter of minutes.

The entire archive will be backed-up on multiple servers and on CD-R media.

It is vital that we save these historical images now!

Thank you for your support, MSAPA editor.

This fifty year old photograph is slowly being eaten away by bacteria that live on the surface of the
photograph. There's very little we can do to stop this from happening. Fortunately we caught this
one in time.

Your images will be greatly appreciated. We can do a lot to restore images
so send them in even if they're damaged. Please give as much information
as you can about the picture:

If you don't have any of the answers send it in anyway, another 'old boy'
might be able to solve the puzzle.

Thank you!
