Code of Positive Behaviour Rules of Combat

  • Members of Medieval Methil are expected to conduct themselves at all times in the best interests of the society.
  • Members should be courteous in all their dealings with fellow members, members of other re-enactment societies and members of the public.
  • Aggressive attitudes and bad language will not be tolerated and could lead to a member being asked to leave the society.
  • It is the responsibility of all members to act in a safe way at all times.
  • Property belonging to Medieval Methil society should be treated with care and respect and looked after properly, and returned after use to appropriate place.
  • All financial claims are to be handed to the committee to be dealt with at next meeting. Receipts will be necessary. Reimbursement for travel etc, must be authorised in advance by the committee.
  • Rules of combat as on appendix 1 must be adhered to by all attending the event-practice meetings.
  • Any member found to be bringing the society into disrepute or working against the interests of the society will be dealt with in the appropriate manner.
  • It is expected that members attending an event should be in a fit state to carry out their duties.
  • The society reserves the right to amend these rules.
  • All members who wish to take part in events run by other societies must supply a passport-sized photo for membership cards. Members only taking part in non combatant medieval Methil events may be supplied with non photographic card.
  • For insurance purposes, members taking part in events should carry their membership cards at all times.
