Johnic Team Status

Sonic Fangames

Yea... well it was BOUND to happen!

The current game being worked on is Chaotix E-0MEGA. This is mecha_chao's first fangame, so please don't be TOO harsh (although honesty is good). Details below.

Current Level Completion Status - 6.5/22

About Johnic Team:
Johnic Team was formed by mecha_chao in mid February 2002. So far, it consists of 3 members:
mecha_chao:

Hes good with: Level design, and Ok at editting. Great at taking abuse!
He sucks at: coding, making MIDI's, timing, learning anything new.
MystHedgehog:
He does what? Confirms things with mecha_chao and is doing the good parts of the coding on an upcoming project.
Hes good with: Coding, changing things a lot, level design.
He sucks at: I actually don't know at the time of writing...
Jim:
He does what? Makes cool MP3's.
Hes good with: stressing out, making MP3's, finding time to play games, sarcasm.
He sucks at: Keeping his cool, MIDI music (hasn't tried, doesn't want to).

What's the story behind E-0MEGA?
We all know who Sonic is... right? Ok, good. Well, in Mobius' present, Sonic fights Dr. Eggman to restore peace to Mobius and to stop Eggman from grasping the Chaos Emeralds. Yes, we all know this. Eventually, Sonic defeats Eggman for good, and the "good" doctor dies. Before he dies he finishes the ultimate badniks, named E-0MEGA. They posess the abilities of his "Metal Sonic" units, but include something that all his previous units lacked, the ability to adapt to their surroundings. With the ability to learn from their mistakes and to always have the advantage, they would be invincible.
However good his work, Eggman always found that it was destroyed by Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and the other Freedom Fighters. To make sure that they wouldn't get defeated, Eggman programed the units to activate on the Mobian Year 3000, a time long after Sonic ever existed.
Mobian Year 3000, the inhabitants of Mobius celebrated the new millenium. However, as the clock struck 00:00, all power on the planets surface shut down.
The current Guardian of the Chaos Emeralds, mecha_chao V.203, watched from Emerald Outlook on Mobius' moon. According to it's programming, if any trouble arose the Chaotix Crew should be summoned from the past to check it out. Approaching the all powerful Master Emerald, it carried out its orders...

Screenshots from the Beta version

The beta version is uploaded and ready to download. HOWEVER, THE BETA HAS NO MUSIC! Also, some of the characters voices are not ready as yet (ie, they sound awful). The alpha engine was WAY bugged, and the hit detection was terrible. The beta engine is a lot better, although Charmy Bee's stopdead is still there (and I apologise).
Controls:
All the characters move with the directional buttons (up, down, left, right), and jump with button 1. However, all the characters have a unique signature move, which can be activated by button 2. Details of this are below.
Charmy: Flower Power! Charmy shoots flowers like shooting stars! Press and hold the direction to shoot in, and press button 2.
Espio: Tounge Lash! Espio, as a chameleon, has an exceptionally long tounge. Why not use it as a weapon? Press button 2, and Espio will shoot in the direction he is facing. Use this attack for a bit more distance, or to do more damage.
Knuckles: Glide! Knuckles can glide like an eagle, without falling like a rock! Press and hold button 2 while jumping to glide to places unreachable by normal jump alone. Let go of button 2 to fall again. While falling, press and hold button 2 again to revive the glide.
Mighty: Bounce Jump! Taking a lesson from Sonic, Mighty adapted Sonic's Lightning Jump into his own technique. Press button 2 before Mighty gets to the peak of his jump to bounce higher than a normal jump. Useful for dodging projectile attacks.

*Hint* The signature moves are there for a REASON! Use the signature moves to complete each level and defeat Eggman's machines!
*Another Hint* Make sure you read the mission brief before each level. It has the levels name and password, but more importantly, what you need to do to complete the level! Failure to complete a mission means having to start again from the start of that level!
