Good Effort!
Of all our rivals, Pentwyn seem to have made the transition to the 11 a side game the best. It was only a season ago that the lads used to get the better of the Dynamoes but this season Pentwyn have taken all before them.
Earlier in the season the lads lost 1-5 at Heath park after gifting a number of goals. So, today would no doubt be a test of character as well as skill.
Another cold bright morning greeted us at Waun Fach but at least there was no wind this week. No selection or substitution headaches again this week as once more the Eagles only had eleven more players to pick from. Alhough Declan returned after illness, Marley wasn't available leaving Mike and Dermot with the bare eleven of William, Declan, Niall, Matthew, Jonathan, Michael, Jamie, Iwan, James Joe and Aaron.
In a battling performance the lads found themselves under constant pressure and it was to the defence's credit that they held out for 20 minutes before the Dynamoes took the lead when an excellent shot from the edge of the area rocketed into the back of the net. The lads didn't let their heads drop though and were a little unlucky when the second goal went in just befor half time . To be fair the Dynamoes deserved their half time lead which could have been greater if William hadn't been in such fine form in goal. The second half continued in the same vein with the Eagle defence under constant pressure. The attacks finally told however and Pentwyn scored 2 more goals to finish the game 4-0 victors. It wasn't all gloom however and the lads deserve a lot of credit for their continued battling against a very good side.
