What a beautiful morning! When I looked out of the window this morning the ground was white with frost and I thought there would be no chance of the games being on! But the air temperature rose quickly and the pitch at Waterhall was easily playable although it was quite badly cut up because of rugby training in the week. I took my coat off half way through as it was so warm! Let's hope we get more of this in the coming weeks!
Now the football!
The lads played against Lisvane, Pentych and Danescourt today and they got off to a cracking start with a superb goal in the first game after only two minutes! Some wonderul interplay on the left, a great pull back from the bye line into the box and Sion was there to thunder the ball into the net! The supporters on the side were in raptures! Unfortunately the rest of the morning didn't go so well! From then on the performances were somewhat lacklustre and we'll have to confine the memories of the morning to the object on the left! ! Well even Man U have off days! Jonathan in goal made some mighty flying saves and should be given a lot of credit, especially if you saw the condition of one of the goalmouths he had to defend! It's half term lads! So cheer up! There's always next week! Incidentally, next week is round 2 in the Inter-Marlboro championship......and we're one up!
