Eleven Eagles took the field in the most atrocious conditions at Trelai! A gale force wind full of heavy rain blew across the field from the start of the game! The lads were wet cold but up for it! A fantastic game of football was put on by all 22 players and the referee on the most awful of evenings! All players deserve a heap of credit for sticking to the task and providing the hardy spectators with fine fare!

The Eagles took the game by the scruff of the neck and went into an early 2-0 advantage but spirited play by Capitol brought them level at the break after a first half of end to end football in foul conditions. Again the Eagles took the initiative to lead 4-2 ten minutes into the second half but again Capitol came back to even the score at 4-4. With the crowd breathless to say nothing of the players the Eagles again took the lead at 5-4 but two goals from Capitol shortly after saw them take the lead for the first time at 6-5. Things had a way to go yet! The Eagle spirit came to the fore and another goal brought the score to 6-6...........surely that was it! But no! Capitol took the lead at 7-6 with only minutes to go and it looked like the Eagles were downed! But then the goal of the night saw Iwan rocket the ball into the roof of the net from outside the box to even things up at 7-7!! An amazing finish to an amazing match! Terrific entertainment! Well done to both teams!
