It may have been a miserable morning weather wise but the lads and fans thought it a fine morning after the Eagles broke their run of bad luck with a fine win against Danescourt at Pontcanna!

Despite the gloomy conditions the lads showed grit and determination to take a deserved early 1-0 lead with a tremendous long range strike by Joey! A commanding performance from the towering defence of Declan and Hassan largely surpressed a lively Danescourt attack and the score remained at 1-0 until half way through the first half when several errors saw the Eagles pegged back to 1-1 despite having most of the play. However just before half time a series of Eagle corners resulted in Joey getting a second goal with a close range effort to take the lads into a 2-1 lead at the break. The Eagles midfield had a fine day with excellent work from Niall, Iwan, James and Jamie providing good service to the attack.
Joey continued to take the headlines in the second half when he completed a fine Eagle move in the first minute of the second half to take the Eagles into a 3-1 lead and complete his hat-trick. It looked plain sailing after this but a missed off-side decision saw Danescourt presented with an easy opportunity to score which brought the score to 3-2. Things looked bleak when Danescourt were awarded a penalty a few minutes later but Rhys saw the ball struck several yards to the right of the post! Despite many more Eagle near misses the match remained at 3-2 when the final whistle blew! Well done lads! You gained a very highly deserved success!
