Playing at Last!
At last we get some games in!! It's been a while since the lads last had a run out and we were all looking forward to ending the long lay-off. Unfortunately, we only had two teams to oppose this morning, Splott Albion and Pentyrch as Llanishen Cubs were unable to make the venue. The skies didn't look too bright as we arrived and the surroundings not too salubrious as you can see in the photo opposite! Fortunately we didn't need to use that particular goalmouth as only the one pitch was employed!

Jon practising between games 1 and 2. Note the unusual feature behind the goal and the horrible state of the practise pitch!

Winning Ways Continue
Game 1 against Pentyrch saw the lads start with the skies black and the rain pouring down! Nevertheless the lads produced some breath-taking football. This was an amazing improvement on the previous performance against Pentyrch back at Llanishen Park! After the lads took a one goal lead in the first half the game looked all over with the Eagles in complete control. However, some slack work at the back saw a Pentyrch striker score an excellent goal to equalise! The lads once again dug deep into their reserves and finished with three more well taken goals to finish the game deserved 4-1 victors! What a away to lift the gloom!

To compensate for the lack of a third game the managers agreed a fifteen minute each way match against our great rivals Splott Albion who narrowly defeated the lads 1-0 on the last occasion they met. By the time the lads started the third game, the morning had brightened up wonderfully! We had to wait for Splott to play Pentyrch (Splott won 3-1) before taking the field in bright sunshine!
The lads started superbly and established an early one goal lead with a fine Aaron effort. However, Splott equalised just before half time to take the match 1-1 into the second half. The lads exploded into life in the second half and a superb header by Aaron saw the lads take the initiative and fairly soon two more goals went in before Spott replied to make in 4-2. The boys were far from finished however, and scored again before Splott again added to their total. With the score at 5-3 Splott tried to play with a "goal hangar" but the lads organised themselves well to take care of things! Still not finished, the Eagles poured forward and deservedly made it six before the final whistle! What an amazing performance! Well done lads!!
