Eleven For None Against!

Only two games played too! St Mellons B failed to show.......what a surprise!

What a beautiful day for  football and in such a fine setting! The seven lads that Mike and Dermot had to  pick from were rearing to go and the venue looked superb! The pitches were large and well grassed and it augured well for the Eagles passing game! So no distractions of substitutions to contend with just pure football!

The first game was against Butetown Colts and the lads impressed in well controlled first half which saw superb defence combine with real flair in attack and a 3-0 half time score line was really no surprise. To give credit to Butetown they really rolled their sleeves up for the second half and competed for every ball. The lads continued to play well but sound Butetown resistance meant that no further goals went in.

The second match saw the lads play Maindy Corries for the first time ever. Unfortunately the Corries were completely blown away by the Marlboro Machine and found it very hard to compete. A 3-0 half time lead was converted to an 8-0 defeat by the final whistle. Special mention should be made of Hassan's two thunderbolts which brought the crowd to life!

Once again the Eagles became the Magnificent Seven but once against they were more than a match for the opposition. Back to Trelai next week and lets hope that the weather continues to be kind!
