ABOUT
THIS SITE
I hope you like the new colour scheme! It's the first part of an extensive revamp of the site which will include more examples of what I do. I have tried to provide some representative images of the various types of work I produce throughout this site; there are also some links to other sites which also display my work on relevant pages and in the left margin of this page. Please don't (ever) expect to see all of my comics art pages on the web, though. I've produced well over 1000 pages since 1988 - just imagine the scanning time...
There is also a Guide for comics writers and artists which I hope will be of help to some of you. This section will be expanded from time to time.
Stop by, say Hi and maybe buy . . . :)
ART NEWS - updated March 2006
Last year I supplied front page illustrations for the official BBC Doctor Who website - these are pastiche World War II posters to illustrate the New TV adventures 'The Empty Child' & 'The Doctor Dances'; see www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho. I also produced online illustrations for the BBC cult new Sherlock Holmes stories; see www.bbc.co.uk/cult/sherlock . I look forward to contributing work for the tenth Doctor soon . . . .
I've finished my five-year run on Thunderbirds Magazine (published in the UK by Redan); I produced comic art for this and latterly took on the colouring.
Last year I produced box & menu art for the Metrodome dvd releases of the original Transformers animated second series, and the third box set in this collection features Simon Furman, Andrew Wildman and myself being interviewed at the 2004 Auto Assembly convention. There's now a rather wonderful Tin to keep all the dvd sets in. Following the work I produced for Panini's recent UK comic, I pencilled an 11-page mini comic for Wildfur Productions which should have been included in the PS2 Transformers Armada game. Sadly, these fine items are some kind of collectors gem as they were missing from the finished product . . . Doctor Who tale Shada; based on the unfinished Douglas Adams story from Tom Baker's time, recently remade by BBCi as a Webcast with Paul McGann as the Doctor, and for which I supplied illustrations, met with generally favourable reviews. It can sometimes be seen, along with an interview (for those with a desire to see and hear me rambling on) at the link on the left.
The audio version and Special Edition MP3 version - including the animations - of Death Comes to Time has been released by the BBC, for which I supplied the cover art design, booklet art and photo-retouched character elements. The full version of Real Time is viewable again at the link on the left and Big Finish's audio cd is on release.
Very shortly I will be making black & white art from Doctor Who Dalek story Children of the Revolution available on eBay. These will join Death Comes To Time and full-colour art from the DWM comic strip The Last Word.
I also produce a variety of illustrations for children's educational publications and computer magazines. I will show some samples of these here soon.
MUSIC NEWS updated March 2006
I've been playing sax with Bristol-based Roxy Music tribute band called Roxy Magic - see www.roxymagic.co.uk for details. We've been appearing country-wide since the start of 2005 to increasing success. Roxy Music themselves have reformed yet again, this time to record new material; so we'll have competition :)
In 2003 I had a great deal of fun touring theatres in the Midlands as sax player with Foxy-Music; also a Roxy Tribute band, as well as - up until the end of 2004 - with Rock Pirates.
