"The Dream"
I fell into my dreams blue space,
But it's currents held me up,
And an angel came to offer me,
A drink from a golden cup.
I drank nectar from the cup,
Whilst taking in this wonderous sight,
But before I had finished drinking
The angel departed and took flight.
Inexplicably I was in an instant filled,
With the most engulfing sorrow,
As if the angel carried away with him,
All hopes for my tomorrow.
I opened my mouth to shout
Please, you cannot, must not leave,
Without you here, beside me
I have nothing to believe.
But no words from me.
Would my most vivid dream allow,
And here, yes, right in this moment,
I feel that visions echo now
Many months before I met you,
I did have that dream,
And now all of it has come true,
It's all become so real.
When I first met you, loved you,
I struggled so hard to recall,
Where I had seen you another time,
Or if I had known you at all.
The love you gave to me,
Was so special, so unique,
Yet I knew ,I had tasted before,
Something... just as sweet.
And as you walked away from me,
To leave my life forever,
I had no words to bring you back,
And I started to remember,
THE DREAM, and it's symbols,
It became clear to me what they meant,
The cup was your heart, the nectar your love,
And you were my angel sent.
Just like in my dream you left,
And I could not make you hear my voice,
And then I had to wake up,
Because dreams give you no choice.
Forced back into realities,
I am trapped with no oasis
Sleeping or awake,
The nightmare lives in both those places.
