"She Tried"

She cared for him so deeply
friends through thick and thin
there for each other no matter what
he helping her, she helping him

Her world was very far from his
but still thier friendship grew
hours of talking to each other
till all of her secrets he knew

Something changed for him
he wasn`t sure where or when
but new emotions stirred in him
he wanted more than friendship then

But her heart belonged to another
and he was blinded to her plea
to just stay friends like before
he loved her by now you see

When her heart got broken
he stood by her, helped her through
she couldn`t have coped without him
she did not know what to do

Patiently he listened to her tears
wiped them all away for her
he was always there to listen
and always there to care.

He thought that if he waited
until she got over this
that she would come to him
and finally be his.

She tried so hard to tell him
that this would never be
she didn`t want to hurt him
but she couldn`t make him see

Sadly thier friendship faultered
she knew it had to end
she would miss him so very much
he had been her greatest friend

But she ended it unselfishly
thinking of his heart,
and how it would be better for him
if they were to part.

But he couldn`t see it like that,
he thought that she didn`t care,
that she broke his heart on purpose
and then just left him there

and now....he blames her for this,
for all his hurt and pain,
even though she tried to save him
time and time again.

It` hurts her so to think
that this way it had to end
and how because of this
she lost a wonderful friend

She would like to mend his heart,
she would like to make it all okay
but she has to leave it now
because it`s better for both that way.
