Resizing and optimizing
Now, you have to resize the image to 80x80 pixels. I
personally
use the "Billinear resample" as resize type for my icons. But feel
free to mess around with it, just to see how it works best with
your particular image.


Due to the resizing, your image will most likely look
a little bit blurry. To fix it, you will have to use the
Unsharp Mask tool (Effects-->Sharpen-->Unsharp Mask...)
Try to mess around with the settings. I am using this
setting
from a previous PSP6 icon tutorial. Use the one below if you are
too lazy to find your own way of sharpening.

Now you need to decrease the images color to maximum 256
colors.
Go to the Colors menu and select Set Palette Transparency... You will
probably be asked if you want to merge layers and/or decrease colors, which you
do.
Use the following settings showed below:
